Hi everyone, I am from New Orleans, and evacuated to N.C. for Hurricane Katrina, and was given the idea to start a Holiday wish tree for the kids of Hurricane Katrina in my area. This is still in the works, but I am passing it on to this group. Maybe someone who wants to help some kids can go to their local red cross, find the evacees who have kids in their area, and start a wish tree for them for the holidays.
I know it has been a few months since this tragedy,but for many of us this season is going to be a small quiet one. Any help would be great. My idea is finding a place that will donate a tree, and have the kids make stars with their names on it, ages and wish for this holiday. I will be the contact person, who will find the kids names and give them the gifts.
So if you have some extra time and want to help out, start a Katrina tree for the holidays in your area, maybe your office, or your gym, or your kids school. Cheryl
