I'm busy integrating 2 cats... a 1 year old and a 13 week old... it is going very well...

today's the day I put the litter boxes next to one another (I can't stand my bedroom smelling like litter!!) and now the older cat is laying inside the baby cats box... he's not sniffing or scratching or peeing or pooping.... he's just laying there like it's a cat bed!!

is this just a scent/territory thing??

Great job with your integration, congratulations on all the progress the three of you are making! I wonder if you would consider placing the litter boxes in two separate locations in your home? I would recommend having a minimum of two litter boxes for your babies.

Because you are supposed to have AT LEAST one litterbox per cat if not I extra

Putting them next to each other kind of defeats the purpose (to them I'd imagine) of having two boxes.

That's the theory. Mine although they have had more over the years, only use the one. I've got to change it soon and I'm near panicking
