Hi, my name is Tina and I'm a self-proclaimed cat saver.
I started last year by rescuing 11 abandoned and very sick kittens that were dropped off at Petsmart. We nursed them back to health and found them all homes. A few weeks later we started working to get a lady's feral cat population under control and after removing 22 cats, euthanizing 16 (FeLv positive & wild) and finding homes for the kittens & friendly cats, I've finally started working with a rescue group who is also helping me continue to get her cat problem under control..
I have LOTS of kitties, live out in the country with a big protective German Shepherd who loves 'his' cats and won't let anything in the yard to get them.. Each of my cats have a story or were a rescue case at some point..
Mo: 7 yr old grey/white DLH - got him free from a vet clinic after someone's cats were seized because they were torturing them. The female kitty had kittens in the clinic and I took Mo home with me.
He is my love.
Rudy: 7 yr old orange/white DSH - found him at Ace Hardware covered in oil. He's now the biggest cat on the block at a hefty 14 pounds.
Sushi: 5 yr old light grey tabby DSH - he was found under our neighbors house, scared, howling, and kept her up all night. We brought him home and he took up with our old dog Maxie who thought of him as one of her pups.
Tigger: 5 yr old dark grey tabby DSH - I honestly don't know where Tigger came from, I think she just showed up at the door one day.
Baxter: 4 yr old dark grey tabby DLH - he is Tigger's son, she got pregnant before we got her spayed (oops) so we found all of the kittens homes, got Tigger spayed and kept Baxter - who things he's a baby doll and will let you rub and pet him everywhere.
Poofie: 2 yr old black DLH - We found her under the barn last year, ugly, hair all sunbleached and nasty dirty kitten. She is now a spoiled queen and has my mom waiting on her hand and foot. She has the most luxurious coat I've ever seen on a black cat and looks nothing like she did when she was a kitten.
Meanie: 8 mth old black DSH - He was very wild and very mean when we got him. He would growl, hiss, & spit everytime you tried to pick him up. However, after repeated lovings every day 3x a day for several weeks he is a very sweet & friendly cat.
Our fosters:
Onyx: She had probably 4 or 5 litters before I rescued her and had her spayed. She loves kittens & is a super sweet kitty. She lost one of her eyes as a kitten and only had a socket, we had that sewn up as well. She is awaiting adoption through the agency..
Princess Leia: My beautiful white fluffy kitten who was rescued from the animal shelter. She is also awaiting adoption..
Turtle: She is still very skinny & getting over a cold, but she's improving daily and loves to eat. She will be a very lovable kitten when she is back to 100%. I rescued her from the overpopulated feral cat situation..
Smoochie: He just found a new home! I'm so excited, he will be living with an older woman who just wants a lap kitty. He loves people so much and will ride in the car, follow you around like a dog and he's even harness trained!!
I think that's all of them!! Wow that took forever to type!
Thanks,
Tina
