I have had a few kittens for a while and one of them was hand phobic. Super affectionate so long as he doesn't see my hands... today i thought... ok i'm fed up of this hand phobia, i've tried everything maybe if i just protect my self i can get nearer to him without any fear.

So i put on an old bulky black suede glove... AND HE LOVES IT!!!

I don't understand why he would be more afraid of my hand without the glove... when WITH the glove on... it looks bigger....

Could it be becoz the glove is black and he is black???

Why would this be so?????

Maybe your hand smells like soap, and the glove smells like a barn or other cats. What a great breakthrough! I hope this leads to allowing petting and loving with gloves on!

It has. He's always been very affectionate towards my feet, my elbows, my knees.... everything BUT my hands.

However with the glove on he will even let me scratch his chin when he is in a basket lying down!!! I am floored as to HOW much difference the glove has made...

I would really love to know what the reason is....
