2 days and it fell through!

Can you believe it? I think that's the shortest time I've ever worked Turns out my "boss" was a bit of a shady character - I clocked him yesterday and decided that perhaps I didn't want to be involved in something that wasn't quite right. It all began when I heard him on the phone talking about his visa and why he hadn't gotten it yet. That started the alarm bells. So when I told him i didn't think the job was for me, he put his hands on my knee and told me "That's ok dear". Nobody calls me dear but Rune and mum. More alarm bells. I don't expect anyone "professional to even think about being so personal towards an employee. OK, maybe that was nothing, but he was definitely too close for comfort. So I'm out of work for a second time. The day got even better when I left to go to school and got knocked off my bicycle by an idiot on a moped who wasn't watching where he was going. So, I came home, sore and unemployed and a little worse for wear I think.

HOWEVER, there is a plus side - I've gotten a volunteer position at Kattens Værn, so I know where I'm going to be on Monday. I'm going to be patching up and playing with all the little kitties in the home. It also gives me a good scope for finding another cat to keep Tosca company. I've spotted a beautiful little long haired grey kitten with HUGE blue eyes (Well, one because the other is gummed up with an infection - she was dumped on the streets at too young) and I would dearly love to take her home. The place was SCREAMING for volunteers and this job just had my name all over it. I'll be doing something I love - and hopefully getting some sort of insight into the work so that I can run my own cat's home. That's my ultimate dream so all in all, I think I'm going to ahve a good time there

Good for you for getting out of there though! it's better to be unemployed than in a place like that! What a horrible, horrible, man!

That's great that you've found a voluntary job in a cat home - you're going to love it! I do hope you get to take the kitten you like!

thanks Sarah - no I'm not too badly bashed up - it's mostly that he frightened me. He wasn't going very fast fortunately. He just didn't look where he was going and missed my hand signal entirely - tried to overtake me as I was turning and took me side-on. Still, he did stop to ask if I was ok and saw me home again - not that I had to go far seeing as it was literally at the end of my street! hehehe

I bet it was frightening - especially getting you side on! I'm glad you're not badly hurt though!

It was good of him to take you home! Even if it was the end of the street!

I hope that the rest of your week goes so much better! I'm sure it will, too, things can't get more exciting than the day you've had!

That sucks about your job. And didn't someone steal your bicycle a couple of days ago?

Yeah I see she's having a rough time It's not been too wonderful here, but at least I've still got my wheels!
