Miya has always had a problem with a runny nose. Today her nose seemed a little dry and crusty. I picked the crust off as usual and a small part of her nose started to bleed. Her nose seems a bit leathery, not moist. What should I do to help stop this?

I use aloe vera cream for Moussaka, his nose cracks with the cold, poor thing. I buy one thats for babies, so if he licks it off it won't hurt him

Okay, I will try the Aloe Vera. I usually clean her up, and this is the first time it's happened. Miya's fine now.

You might try poking a little hole in a Vitamin E capsule and massaging a drop of that into her nose, too. That's what I do when I have a cracked nose from a cold or flu, and it worked well on one of my mom's cats when he had the same problem you describe. Vitamin E promotes healing, and it also seals the raw spots from the air, which eases the pain.

Don't feel guilty about it. You were just trying to help, and like you said, you've done it before and it didn't hurt.

for Miya!

Thanks everyone!
I gave her plenty of kisses after the ordeal (which didn't really seem to bother her but for a short time.)
