How long would you say is it safe for a cat to go without having a bowel movement? My cat has recently took a turn for the worse and hasn't had a bowel movement for a long while and it's worrying me cause she is eating but doesn't seem to rid of it.

Well this could be difficult to answer SC but before kitty got sick, did you happen to notice how regular her bowel movements were?

Do you know (approximately) when she had her last bowel movement? Is she drinking a lot of water? Has she passed any urine at all or is she just having problems defecating? Sorry for all the questions but if its been over 24 hours you should ring your vet, especially if she's taken a turn for the worse as you said.

((Hugs)) to you and your kitty

Um I believe the last time she deficated was probably Thursday. She took a turn for the worse and hasn't been able to walk since Friday. Her back legs don't seem to work. She can urinate though and has been drinking water. Things just don't look good and there is nothing we can do probably. We may have to put her to sleep soon.
