We just bought our first house!!

My husband and I just signed the papers of our very first house on Tuesday!! We're still trying to finish moving in, so its been really hectic. We lucked into this house really. Its a gorgeous house that has all new appliances and is in the absolute best part of town! We've got great neighbors, and a HUGE yard!! And the best part is, we got it for a GREAT price!! We're so very excited! I've already painted the living room and master bedroom and I plan on working on the kitchen soon. They didn't have to be painted, but everything was white and that bugs me so I decided to go ahead and paint before we moved all the furniture in and it has turned out beautiful! We're both absolutely in love with this house!

I'll try to post a picture or two later in the week, I haven't had time to take any yet!

Congrats! That is so exciting. My fiancee and I just bought a brand new townhome and moved in this summer.

We painted some too before we moved in and were sooo glad we did that. We painted all of our main level (kitchen, dining, living rooms) and I painting my upstairs office. It was so much easier painting without furniture and everything to worry about. What colors did you choose?

Can't wait to see the pictures!

Thanks for the congrats!! I painted the bedroom a deep burgandy and the living room a chocolate brown. My living room is done in elephants and the brown really looks beautiful with the artwork that I have. The carpet is white, so the room isn't dark and turned out even more gorgeous than I ever imagined! Its so relaxing and the bedroom is very, very romantic!!

Eventhough it is so much, I remember how much fun it was! Just to paint a wall without someone's permission, is great!!!

Must have taken a skilled bargain-hunter to find reasonably-priced house.

We just bought our first house in February. It's so much fun fixing it all up and making it just right.

Congratulations on your new home! We just bought our second house, lots more room and acreage. Now we have 2 mortgages till the first one sells, but hopefully it will sell soon. We are in the process of moving now, to another state to our new home. I will be so glad to have no neighbors! I've always wanted a house in a rural area, now we have one!

Amen, sister! I've lived in apartments my whole adult life, and the white walls depress me all to pieces. Just hearing about your chocolate brown living room has lifted my spirits considerably! :-)
