Oh my goodness - I walk past a crack between these two buildings in the city every now and then and there is a family of cats living in there. I always take a look and see if anyone looks injured or sick and I have seen at least one kitten there this last summer. There appears to be someone who leaves food and water for them but they are not the least bit tame - Several generations living on the streets has made them very wary of people.
Getting on to the oh my goodness part - I walked past today and the crack was boarded up!! I don't know what to think. I would like to believe one of the people feeding the cats organised a trapping session but I think it's just as likely someone from one of the buildings got sick of the bird feathers and food next to their doorway and organised a caretaker to board up the area...
I know one of the local cat groups was aware of that colony so I really hope it was them who came and removed the cats although last time I spoke to them they were too full.
