Willow has been with us for approximately a month now. Previously Willow and Tibby were victimising Molly (read here)

However, the tides have now turned. There have been continued hissing and growling, but no real fights - just the odd swat here and there.

On a couple of occasions, I have heard some terrible screaming from upstairs when Willow and Molly have been up there. I have dashed up to check that Molly was okay - as she was being victimised before - only to find Molly sitting there quite normally (rather than hiding like she ordinarily would) and Willow in his room.

I caught the whole routine yesterday and discovered that Molly makes the sounds that she would when she 'scraps' with Tibby, only she wasn't being attacked or anything!!
She begins with a high pitched meow and develops into a kind of squeel. Willow was just staring at her, then started to walk away. Molly made another sound and Willow turned back to her - as Molly was getting slowly closer. Then, as Willow turned around to walk away, Molly swats his back legs and sqeels like she has been attacked.

I just don't understand what is happening?! It seems like Molly is trying to become Alpha cat or something!!

I have been using some anxiety drops with all three to see if this eases any discomfort they may be feeling, but I'm not sure if it is something that just has to happen and they will work it out themselves or there is something I can do to help just that bit more?!

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Im sorry that i cant answer your question on cat politics but I am wondering if i am the only one here who finds it strange to be giving anxiety drugs to cats.

I am new here and maybe i am missing something but .... Cat Prozac?

Lots of us use Rescue Remedy when our cats are a bit stressed.

The drops that I am using are actually from reputable herbal pet shops and is specifically formulated for cats, dogs, rabbits, birds etc.

It is not to sedate the cat or anything, it just has a naturally calming effect!
