I have a problem with both of my cats now, When i feed them the wet food they will only eat the gravy and leave the meaty bits there to stale.. why wont they eat it??? (it doesnt matter which brand i give them)

Mine do the same thing al 4 of them. They lap the gravy and leave the pieces of meat. I have no idea why.Ii guess they just don't like it.

Fran, my three do the same! What I now do is mash the meaty lumps with a fork to combine it with the gravy/jelly! Then I sprinkle their biscuits on the top - all I have now is empty bowls!

You tasted your kitties food? You are truly a dedicated cat Mommy.

Mine eat the pouches. I can't get them to eat pate. I think that it is a texture thing. What brand of pate do your kitties like?

Try them on something without gravy - patÃ[emoji]169[/emoji], jelly, or simply "shredded" in water seem to be more appealing to many cats.

My monsters are the same. If it has gravy, they eat the gravy and leave the rest. They're best with the ones that are fairly finely ground or pate, and if there's any juice/gravy, I make sure to mix it in well, and they gobble it up -- except, of course, on the days when, for whatever reason, it wouldn't matter what you gave them

( I've tasted the cats liquid medicines before but not the cat food!

Mashing it is a good suggestion I will try that.

My three cats tend to do this, too -- they really like the gravy almost better than the food. However, usually they do go on and eat the food, and if one doesn't finish hers, my youngest is a "chow hound" and will do it for them. LOL

Since the reason I feed any wet food at all is to get some water into them, I don't mind if they only eat the gravy.

welcome to my world.

This habit of hers is expensive too! I try to feed her the quality stuff, but she licks a bit then is done. I've tried mashing, and the pates, all for naught.

You find a way to get your cat(s) to eat it - let us know what you did!
