My puss started sneezing last night (so cute when she does) and she's still going today.
The question is do I just treat her like a kid and keep her indoors and warm until it clears up or off to the Dr's straight away.
I mean, it's not like I can make her a lemon tea now, is there anything I can give her?
There's nothing else, lungs are ok, eyes are clear and nose is normal.
Could she have caught this off us?
My son caught a cold/cough and has kindly shared it with Mum & Dad, perhaps Ginger as well.
The temperature has dropped quite a bit here in the last few days so she's been snuggling up close.

Yup...she could have a cold I supposed...but most likely a URI....if so she will probably need antibiotics. I`d suggest the vet also.

I also suggest a check up at the vets. and also do keep her inside and warm while she is sick.

does ur cat had watery eyes? if it is juz plain sneezing, it shud b ok... but if it had been a few days plu watery eyes (or pinkish around the eye), it show signs of a cat flu which is fatal. if ur cat has these symptoms, to the vet u must go n FAST!!!!

Thankyou everyone, she is going to the vet in the morning (Visa card tremors)
At a loss as to how she got this cold tho'. She's had no contact with any other cats.

Do you think she got it from us? All 3 humans have a cold as well.

Well, it's a good thing I did take Ginger to the vets this morning.
She's just been sleeping on the sofa ever since we returned.
They gave her a shot in the hip {{{hiss}}} and some ointment for her eye as well as 5 days of antibiotics.
Also found out she hadn't had her vaccinations as she was quite a sick bubba and couldn't have them and then we forgot.
So next week it's vaccinations and then finally booking in for a spay.
She seems a little warm to the touch and hasn't touched her food since this morning so fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Poor puss, has the indignity of having Mum&Dad squirt medcine down her throat twice a day and now she's all snotty as well.
Right now she's spread out in front of the parafin heater snoring/snorting away.
After wearing the medicine last night instead of getting in down her throat, today I've just squirted on her bikkies.
I tell you, it's the first time I've ever seen a cat hoiking and spitting! She REALLY doesn't like her meds.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that it's not possible for cats to become infected with human illnesses. The strains of bacteria that make us sick don't make them sick and vice versa, as far as I know, so you probably didn't make your cat sick.

It is unlikely as most bateria and viruses are specices specific but there are a few...

It's not usual, but possible, especially if a virus mutates. Thus the fear of avian flu causing a human influenza pandemic. The 1918 flu originated as an avian flu. Some people have died of swine flu.
My cat, and a few others in the area, caught human flu (slightly mutated) back in September. My vet said the lab didn't want to test the first two blood samples she sent in for flu, telling her her suspicions were "totally unfounded", but by the time she sent in Jamie's (he was #9), they'd reconsidered.
