Well hubby and I went out for about 6 hours today. When we came home we heard a loud noise coming from the kitchen. Someone managed to turn the blender on! What's worse is that the blender wasn't really inserted right or something, so all the plastic bits were melted. Thank god it didn't start a fire! I asked hubby why the darn thing was plugged in anyway, since we dont use it that often? Now we have no blender. We probably used the blender all of 2 times at the most in one year! I'm going to see if I can get a replacement top, but it's probably just as well to get a new one.

Never a dull moment, huh?
Lucky it didn't overheat!
I can't remember the last time we used our blender, either. Come to think of it...I'm not even sure where it is!

Well, at least all is well with the house and the kitties, even if the blender didnt make it!

I have a friend who had a toaster burst into flames for no reason. She was told never to leave a small appliance plugged in except when in use. I still abide by that rule.

Glad everyone is safe, and you only lost a blender!

Our Toby can turn on the kitchen faucets. I`ve come home to water running full blast twice. (once it was hot water!)
My Hubby took two pieces of wood about 3 " wide and long enough to fit into the bottom of the front of the inside of the sink. The other ends he put holes big enough to fit over the handles so that Toby can`t turn them. I keep these 2 "sticks" by my purse so that i don`t forget to put them on the sink/faucets before i leave the house.
Kitties can do so much more than most people think! (Now if i can just find a way to keep him from opening interior doors! Thanksfully he can`t get the ones to the outside open!)

Hooks and eyes, placed way up high, usually work. I put the hook on the door, and the eye on the frame.
