My 14 year old son is skiing. I just got a call from the ski area. They think he fractured his femur. They will xray and call me from the ski area. It sounds bad.

Just got a call. It is a fracture, all the way through, and displaced, but not compound. He's going to come to Denver by ambulance.
Kim, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. It's never fun, and add it to the stress of a holiday week doesn't make it any better. I am sending healing vibes to your son, and hugs

On the bright side, he'll probably enjoy getting a cast!

Aw Kim, sorry to hear that, but kids heal fast so I wouldn't be too upset. He'll probably think it's just a big adventure.
He'll most likely have to have pins or plates. Otherwise the bone won't stay together long enough for new bone to form.
