Izzy, Male(fixed), Born 03/21/2005(Age: ~8months).

I noticed the first bits of this several weeks ago, BUT, it was nothing like this bad. His lips appeared to be a bit red directly under the teeth, but there was no change and no apparent discomfort up until a few days ago.

The largest teeth in his mouth(the fangs at the front, I don't know if they're still called canines because he's a feline lol) seem to be poking into his lower lip. On the one side(his right, to the left in the front-on picture) it's gotten a lot worse since yesterday.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on? I wasn't worried about it until today, he didn't have scabs before today. Then again, they're his teeth, what could I possibly do about it?

Edit: Just found this pic, shows that side of his mouth from about a week ago:

(He's playing with the camera string in that picture, lol)

You can see what I'm talking about on his lip.

I have no idea except perhaps talk to a vet. Maybe just call and see what they say. They may of course want you to bring him in so they can see. Hopefully it is just a tooth problem and not anything more serious like an infection or something.

IMO, definitely something to check out with a vet.

Well, as an update: The scabs appear to be gone now. There is an indentation into each lip, and the fur is still a little discoloured from the small amount of blood I imagine.

I agree with Yosemite. Call your regular vet, and see what the vet has to say. It is possible that the problem will resolve itself or could be corrected by a vet dentist.

although it is rare but it is not impossible shud a teeth grew too close resulting injuring the lower or upper lips. let ur vet do the inspection n shud b necessary, ur vet might need to file the cat's teeth or something...
