It is soon to be my first thanksgiving without my Corkie, my third with out Schazi and 4th without Minnie. To top it all off something is wrong with Missy.

She HAD stomatitis and had her teeth pulled and simply stoppped eating. Vet kept her for a few days and she looked great when I got her back but suddenly she stopped eating again - even on Cyproheptdine. her mouth is no longer sore and she WANTS food but sniffs it and turns away.

She acts week and fragile, and today she came in from out in the back yard and started yowling. I rushed to her but she became angry so I let her be.

Blood work and urinalysis is fine but -----! I am wiht her all most 24/7 and I can see she is not her same self. I am terrified I am losing her too, but when I tell my Vet he just gets angry and tells me she is fine and to quit worrying.

She acts so much like Corkie did when she was dying and brings back all the old memories and those memories HURT. Corkie's Vets NEVER did anything to try to help her and I cannot get out of my mind how she clung to me at the end so fearful of being taken away.

I am scared and hurting and it is not fair at any time of the year but at this time especially when I am planning gifts for my babies. I have no more money to take her to a specialist and I am just so frightened. I have nobody who cares to help!

I just miss my 3 angels so much and now being worried about Missy is making all things worse!
Sometimes I wish God would find good homes for them and take me away!

Ahh I'm sorry you are so sad, it must be hard. Maybe Missy is just remembering how it hurt to eat before if it did, and she just afraid to try it, Hopefully she'll be fine, Sending thoughts and prayers for You and Missy

Heidi, I am so sorry. This time of year seems to magnify such intense pain. I lost my beloved Freddie on 11/9/03
and that year was very dark at our house - he was the little light of our lives. I know you to be a deeply caring, deeply compassionate cat lover who must be a wonderdul light for the ones that are still with you. Let that be your strength. We are sending huge vibes for you and Missy, huge healthy vibes.
Love,
Elizabeth
Sasha & Saba
p.s. can your vet take payments? even small at first?

Oh, Heidi, how I wish that we could be together tonight, to give each other encouragement and hope! Please realize that God HAS given your babies a wonderful home - WITH YOU! I sometimes feel the same way that you do - I think that most people could.I think that Corki, Shatzi & Minnie are all very glad that you have opened your heart & thoughts to the rest of us at TCS. So many people here completely understand, and as you would want to give us comfort, so we wish to comfort you. {{{Prayers & vibes}}} for speedy healing for Missy, and for encouragement & comfort for you. Hugs, Susan

I am so sorry for the pain you are feeling.
I understand as my Molly's one year anniversary is on Thanksgiving Day. I have been thinking about her a lot lately myself.

I also think your vet needs to be MUCH more compassionate to your fears and concerns. If I had a vet get angry with me for showing concern towards my cat, it would be time for another vet! You are your sweet kitty's voice and how dare he try to silence it!

I am sending get well vibes for Missy, and comforting vibes to you.

I am sorry you are hurting so much
My girl Roo had to be put to sleep a little over a week ago and this will be the first Thanksgiving in 16 years without her...it just won't be the same without her putting her face in peoples plates nagging for turkey!

Sending healing vibes to Missy
And please do consider going to another vet for a second opinion.

Thank you all of you. There are no other vets - we have gone to them all! Next step would be to take her to UC Davis but I have no money left.

I just gave her some pain meds and will give her more tonight. At least THIS way I can tell if she is hurting or not!

Oh, what a lot of loss in such a short time! I'm sorry you have had so many losses, and at such a time of year!

Please post about Missy on the health boards (if you haven't already!) I'll bet you will get lots of good advice to help encourage her appetite!

Condolences on the losses of Corkie, Schazi, and Minnie. I hope Missy starts eating for you!

Phil 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

May God grant you peace at this time of thanksgiving, and healing for sweet Missy. The above verse was found by my Mom when she was having difficulty communicating after her cancer diagnosis. Even in the most difficult circumstances, God is with you, Heidi. You are never alone. Feel free to pm if you want. I'll never forget how you have reached out to me here at TCS. I count you among my circle of friends!

Thank you again. I just talked to a long time Vet - one I think the world of due to his honesty and knowing. HE says as long as Missy's weight remains the same then she is eating all her body needs. IF she starts losing THEN I have to take her in for tests!

So at least I know my new Vet is good as my old one said so, BUT STILL this is my 2nd Thanksgiving without Schatzi, my third without Minnie and worst of all my FIRST without the little girl, Corkie who would sit in front of my as I ate and look at me till I shared! I miss them all so much that even my new babies just cannnot ease the pain. Next comes Christmas and Schatzi LOVED to open presents - his or the kitties or mine!

Part of me wants to rejoice in this season but the other part hurts too much to!

Thanks again for your comfort - it means a lot to me!
