Hi! I am just here to ask a another question Little Bear he has been on lacotose for a week b/c of constipation since coming home from the vet one week ago. The day after his last enema he had diareahea which was expected, now again he is constipated I have been giving him lacotose and his butt doesn't look right, swollen and sticks out sometimes I think from the unsuccessful pushing...he is eating, playing and content otherwise except when he wants to try and go...no#2. Tonite he just started to throw up and I am not really not sure what to do?! I know he needs the vet again!

And I was wondering about megacolon?

Also when cats have to poo their rectum can look like its pushing out - like a bump. Either way -please call your vet!!

Hi pepperjack,
what kinda food that u r feeding to ur cat? Dry kibbles or wet food? A high protein diet in the cat's food wud easily caused constipation in cats. as of now, i think u need to bring the cat to the vet n ask ur vet his opinion abt solving the constipation problem...

You might also ask your vet about pumpkin or fiber supplements (like no-sugar Metamucil or Benefiber) to see if that helps regulate his stools. It does sound like he may have a prolapsed rectum. When that happened to Spot, the vet prescribed a topical ointment that helped reduce the swelling.

I am sorry to inform you all here I have been struggle such a battle with this little guy,,,things got progessively worse over the weekend and we had seen the vet and in the end we had to make the choice to put him to sleep,,,it was a tough decision,,,you can go to crossing the Brigde forum for the info...we are so heart broken,,but he had so little chances and time trust me when I say we absolutely loved him so darn much for the 8 weeks we had him. I don't think I loved a cat this much,,,just the fact he was sick is what made us all that more attached to him and his little demeanor, he was an beautiful guy and now he is an gloriuous kitty angel
