Blood came out!

Please help, I don't know what to do. My cat went poop this morning and when he was done there was a large mucusy, bloody, something on the end of his bottom. I noticed his bottom was red not too long ago, but this really freaks me out now. I havn't seen this before and I'm worried! What do I do!!!

I would take him to the vet/there must be a 24 hour vet emergency hospital close to your house. Better to be safe then sorry. I wouldnt wait.

Mucous and blood in the stool often means parasites. SO he needs a vet checkup asap.

Yes, sounds like parasites.
Garfield had the exact thing and he had coccidia. Thats an intestinal parasite.
If you catch it early enough he will be ok.
How old is he?

I agree. If I saw blood on my kitty's bottom, I would consider it an emergency.

Now that it's morning your time (we are in the same time zone), I'm sure there is a vet local to you with Saturday hours. Take your cat in, and if possible, take in a stool sample too -fresh if possible - for them to test.

Thank you guys so much for the advice. When you are a new mommy to a kitty thats had more medical prolems than I have had I just don't ever know what to do.

I took Sonny to the vet and they said he has a water parasite, and that with some medication he should be fine. Oh thank goodness!
