So I was having a miserable awful afternoon at work, some lady customer was being totally horrible to me
Rude customers!

I came home, and I was already crying from the ride home, I was just down in the dumps, so I walk in the apartment and I see ALMOST ALL of my decorative balls from the Christmas tree, and the garland on the floor, with the star on the top almost falling off, PLUS a pretty blue ball on the floor from the tre, broken into pieces -Yup, Harley is guilty as charged.

I walk in and cry some more, Harley came to comfort me and of course, how can I even be mad at him? Those sweet eyes and purrs comforted me right away...

John came home and I continued crying - yup this continued for AN HOUR...the tears just kept coming! (From where, I really dont know)

Anyways, I was getting ready to leave, to drive 2 hours home for the weekend and John is staying at home to go hunting. So I continued to cry cuz I was going to be without him, and all I really wanted to do was be with him and Harley and relax...but I knew I had to come home to see my family.

So I get in my car and start driving up to the interstate which is 7 miles from town, thru the bluffs, which are dark, and scary, which I hate cuz you get NO SERVICE in that area.
So I am almost calmed down from my crying incident/bad day, listening to my favorite CD and all of a sudden I see these 2 deer run up out of the ditch (I was going about 40MPH), so I slowed way down, and I looked and didn't see anymore. So I get back up to about 55 MPH and BOOM-here comes a massive deer out of the ditch, I swear it was only 2 inches from my front bumper! Talk about making me cry again!
I was so freaked out and scared, I've never hit a deer before, but this time I was awfully close!

So I called John cuz I was freaking out and he felt bad cuz he wasn't with me cuz he knew how I was feeling....I'm never driving home in the dark EVER AGAIN!!

Its been quite the night for me, *sigh* ....thank goodness I'm home now safe and sound!

Thanks for listening, but I'm still amazed that I didn't hit the damn thing!!

Oh wow! I'm glad you didn't hit the deer, no matter how close of a call it was. Now that would have been a bad day for both you and the deer!

You're home safe and sound. The day is over, and with every new day come new possibilities.

Oh sweetie! Thank goodness, you didn't hit that deer. So, the deer is having a MUCH better evening now. And, you need to think, "Well, if that deer is having a good evening, then *I* am going to have one too!!!"
P.S. I nearly hit a deer tonight too!! (Scared me TOO!!!!) It just FLEW out in front of my car, then STOOD there, just looking at all the cars. THEN, it just S-L-O-W-L-Y walked over to the other side of the road, and casually began munching on grass!!!
I came back that same way, about 1/2 hour later, and no deer, was there. So, that deer is probably safe and sound, tonight, too!

My grandmother always told me that deer don't believe their eyes. That is why they will jump right in front of a car. I am glad you didn't hit it. Now relax and enjoy your weekend.

We have lots of suicidal deer around here, too.Which ever one of is not driving on a trip has "Bambi watch." I am really nervous animals runing out in front of me since I hit an 800 lb pregnant cow. It missed kicking through my open window by inches as it rolled the entire length of my hood, top and trunk. Cow and calf lived, my car was totalled.

Deer are scary on the road. And even scarier if you hit one. I did and I never will forget it.
My dad always told me if you see one deer there may be more trailing behind and not to speed up until you are well away. That has saved me many of times.

I hope your day gets better and throw yourself a "retrimming" the Christmas tree party.
I have a kit that is a little devil at times too. Just have to love their purrsonalities.

If your headlights are shining right into a deer's eyes---they are practically blinded and don't know to look away. They panic and run, which is why so many end up getting hit on the road

Thank God you didn't end up hitting that deer. It is a very scary and sad thing when it happens. Maybe you should get a pair of those deer whistles. They're very small and you just stick them on the front of your car near your grill. When the wind blows through them, they emit a high whistling sound that is supposed to scare the deer away from the road.

Deer aren't stupid as others have mentioned.
I lived deep in the Rocky Mountains for quite a while and it's usually human error that cause deer death. Put yourself in the position of the deer -- I'm sure you would be scared to see this huge vehicle approaching you. If you plan on using a road without much service, I would agree with Kelly and invest in the whistles.

At any rate, it's a new day and I hope you're feeling better.
Hope you have a nice time with your family.

Do those things really work? I've always seen them but never know if they worked or not.

Thanks guys, I am having a great weekend now - although I am dreading driving back home tomorrow! I am dear paranoid!!
