Strange behavior

My cat has been acting a little strange lately. He is still eating his dry food, but has lost all interest in his favorite treats. He has also become really affectionate and sleeps with me every night. And when he cuddles with me, he licks my hands and arms for like 5 minutes. This is all new behavior for him, could the excessive licking and loss of treat interest signify some sort of health problem or is he just developing new kitty quirks?

I suppose there's a remote possibility he's not getting enough of some nutrient he needs in his food and that's why he's licking you so much. What are you feeding him?

Cats also are sort of like people...we all get our little quirks goingon.

My cats eat nutro indoor kitten food (they are 5 and 7 months old) and a mixture of wet foods (nutro, pet gold). They've both always been whisker lickin treat junkies, but my older cat isn't interested anymore. I'm about to go buy them some greenies (my older cat practically inhaled the trial size bag I had last month), but I'm still concerned about all the licking. I've read on this site that any changes in behavior result from health problems, does he just like the taste of salt?
