Hi, my name is Annelie and I have a small cat rescue in my home. I am especially partial to feral cats/kittens.

My dilemma is no one knows me and I'm trying to find a way to advertise that I'm here. I am on petfinder.com but I really am not getting enough lookers, interest.

Any suggestions that doesn't cost a lot of money? LOL

Thanks!

Welcome to TCS. I actually linked your site to mine the other day. I would put together some inexpensive flyers and place them in your local grocery stores, libraries, vet offices etc. If you do not currently have off site adoptions..those are really great ways to get the word out about your rescue. Contact local PetSmarts/Petcos etc. Also...make sure the vets in your area know about you so they can refer their customers to you if they are looking for another cat.

Oh..something else...your front page on Petfinder is really crowded with information. I would remove anything not directly related to adopting a cat and the pictures and move all of it to another website so the focus of the petfinder page is on adoptions.

Thanks for the advice. I actually have the adoption information in each individual listing as well but I am going to be getting another website to link to for my personal site and I'll see what I want to cut down on the petfinder page as well. Thanks again, Annelie

You are welcome..and thank you for caring for the cats of Roanoke!! As someone who was looking at your petfinder page..it was a bit difficult to find the link to all the available cats....guess it's just me. Hopefully you will have a successful year. Also...I don't know if you joined this..but Home 4 The Holidays just started:

You could utilize some of their ad ideas.

Welcome to TCS

Katie has given you some great advise - things work differently here in Aus so best to leave the advise to the US members, but I agree with the flyers and put them around the town wherever you can. Word of mouth is a great thing but since you move alot you probably dont get that opportunity.

bless you for all your doing - I looked at your website and I just wanna bring all those kitties home

are any your own kitties?

welcome again - GOOD LUCK with everything!!!
