Hey everyone,

I will be gone for a week, and i'm taking them to the doctors for them to stay there while i'm gone. So my babies will be there for a whole week, and this is my first time being away from them for so long, and not only that, their first time being away from home. I wanted to know will they remember me, and will they be upset with me. I don't know what to expect. Thanks for any advice you can give to me.

They will probably give you the cold shoulder at first. A lot of cats will be very obvious and sit with their back to you, just to make sure you're getting the point, and I've heard some will be a bit mean and nip at you. But they'll come around in the end!

I was gone for 3 days once when the kittens were 5 months old. They were all over us when we got home! Actually it started a very bad habit of them doing anything to wake us up at night to be pet. They eventually calmed down but it took a lot of lovin for them to realize we weren't going to leave again.

Don't forget to pack a shirt/something with your scent on it! A few toys may help to.

I think your reception will depend on the cats' individual personalities. My youngest girl always "punishes" me for leaving her...she usually ignores me for a few hours after I get home. My boy is ALWAYS glad to see me, and my oldest girl forgives me immediately providing I give her a snack

You may want to consider bringing their food to the boarding place...I'm sure the kennel can provide food, but some kitties get upset tummies on a change of diet and also cats dislike change so the food could be one more familiar thing that they have with them.

thanks everyone for their input, i'm nervous, I'm worried the most about apples, cause she is a really scare and she is really attach to me, so i'm hoping she will be ok, i asked if they could both the cats in the same kennel so that way they will have each other, but they said no cause cats tend to blame one another for them being away from home, so i will work out and put my sweaty shirts with them lol
