hi
I have a white cat. She likes to run. Anyways, she always has this stuff in her eyes, you know like when people wake up, the crusty junk that is in your eyes, well she always has that stuff in her eyes. She is such a pretty little cat, I want to know how to get rid of this stuff. I am constanly wiping her eyes. She eats the Costco food and that's all, she won't touch any treats off the dinner table. She won't even eat steak! I want her to look like the cat i saw on the foodbag.

Might be a upper respitory infection causing it or a eye infection. Take her to the vet. He will either give your oral antibiotics or eye ointment.

If they are just little crusties that are black then thats all it is is sleepies. I have one cat that gets them a little more than the other 2. If it creeps into the eye or starts taking on different coloration then that is really bad and can be an infection which is common in kittens, less so in vaccinated adults.

If all it is is sleepies then there is nothing to do other than help her out with it. Petsmart has eye wipes you can use but they are easy to remove wihtout them, just your preference. My white cat gets them all the time all through his life.

I agree with Solarity Bengals and gardenandcats, You might want to run her by the vets office. How old is she? If she is still a kitten she will be more susceptable to these things, I am going through a pesky eye problem with my 5 month old right now. Has she had all her shots? I would also recommend that you buy a high quality food, maybe some wet food, to help boost her immune system. Good luck, let us know what the vet says!

hi
They are just crusty crap, just black in color. I pick them out every so often, but there isn't any wetness. My other cat had a cold a while back, with runny eyes, and gooy eye junk, but that went away after about two weeks.

Prissi is about 4 or 5 years old, and she has most of her shots. She stays inside usually and only has contact with her mean old sister.

oh yeah, about the wetfood. This is a weird cat. She usually won't eat anything but dry food. She has always had a hard time eating wetfood, I remember watching her, and she has a hard time getting it into her mouth. She just ends up pushing the bowl around, or Pippi will come over swat her and gobble up all of her dinner before she gets any.

Its dark, like dark brown, near black. When Pippi had her last cold, I dabbed some tea around her eyes, and it went away after a few days. When Prissi had a runny eye cold, it went away after about a week.

It was lighter brown, like a tan color. Both of their eyes would run a little bit. Not too much but a little. It was easier to tell with Prissi because she's white, but It was the same color on both cats. I only notice it happening maybe twice a year.
