I am
. My mom comes today too! She is coming down from NH. I spent all of yesterday cleaning! The rest of the family and friends from out of town (NH, CO, NE, and PA) are coming on Thursday.

Hi Everyone!!! I am back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia! Everything went beautifully! The only problem was a disappearing groomsman, but my brother filled in for pictures. I promise to post a few wedding pictures soon!

Awwww so many memories coming back reading through this thread
We got married in July last year and had to bring our wedding date forward by nearly a year as we were moving to the US, and needed to be married for the visas. So we planned the whole thing in 6 weeks and did a pretty good job if I do say so myself
Because we had a tight time frame, we didn't have family nagging us about what they wanted, we just went ahead and booked whatever we thought was good.

My big piece of advice for the brides-to-be... ultimately you have to do what you want. It's YOUR wedding, not your parents, not your best friends, not your sisters. If your parents are paying and think that gives them the right to whatever they want, work out with them from day 1 what's important to you and what's important to them and make sure they understand this is YOUR big day. And enjoy the whole thing, while it may get stressful, it really is so much fun

Here's my wedding dress (front and back) and where we had our reception

Ooooh and we saved heaps of money on things like cars, cake, food menu and venue without any of it looking "cheap", so if you want any tips, let me know

Jenny- CONGRATULATIONS! Looks like your day went beautifully. You two newlyweds look so happy!

SolarityBengals- GOOD LUCK! Everything is going to be perfect on your big day, have faith in that
.
Alexa- your venue looks beautiful. A wedding in Ireland- does it get more romantic than that??

Tracy, yup, we've decided on our first dance. It's called "I'll Back You Up" and it's an early Dave Matthews Band song (one of the first songs he ever wrote!). It's sweet without being overly mushy. Do you and Jeff have any songs that are special to the two of you that you could dance to? Remember- it doesn't need to be a slow dance!

Glad to hear that everyone's plans on coming along so well...and thanks for posting all the pictures!!

Amy-Jeff and I have been looking at a few songs, but nothing is solidified yet. I really love the song "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley...but Jeff still isn't sure.

The other options are:

"Amazed" by Lonestar
or a Shania Twain song, her music is always something we agree on!

Good choice! I've been thinking about Shania Twain too! She actually lives very near here too!

"From this moment" and "You're still the one" are just beautiful songs.

Well I got my fiance visa (phew!) and all I have now is the make up and hair people and the videographer to find. My Mom has finally come to the UK and now I can get some help, it almost tempting to tell her to go ahead and dot he rest of it (she would do a great job).

Her song "Forever and for always" was our last dance song!

Great news, my FSIL, and bridesmaid, got a job at the American Embassy in Paris!! She will be teaching middle school kids English as a second language. Bad news is she won't be back until May at the latest, our wedding is next June. Next month we are going to pick the bridesmaids dresses. The hopes is she can get her dress and keep it at home until she gets back then have it altered if need it's needed. My biggest fear is that she will get back and it will be too late for alterations. The last thing I want is her to be dressless for the wedding.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
I'm new to the site and saw this thread. I haven't had a chance to read all of the comments (37 pages!!!).

I'm getting married October 14 of this year. All of the big stuff is taken care of, so I'm a bit relaxed. My dress has a corset back so the only real fitting I need to worry about is for height and I'll need a seamstress to add a bustle. I really want to lose some weight, but I'm doubting it'll happen at this late of a date, but hey, anything can happen!!
