ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
It's my Directors daughters wedding in september who i also work with.

She's his first born so theres no expense spared for this girl. She's having a string quartet to play while photographs are being taken, a chocolate fountain, everything but " HELLO " magazine infact, but i don't think i'll ever get to go to another wedding like this one so i'm really looking forward to it

Susan, I love the bridesmaid dresses you've picked out. If they're going to carry pink flowers, I'd say go with espresso with maybe a pink sash (and definitely tea-length!). Sounds like we're going with very similar color schemes
. I'm going to be the Matron of Honor in my best friend's wedding (2 weeks after mine) and we're probably going with Alfred Angelo #6123 too- what a small world!

We have all of our vendors (including our officiant! Woo hoo!) except the videographer, but he's about to do up our contract as well. Our photographer will only cost about $700 (she works with my dad). She is just starting up her official wedding photography business, so we're catching her at an excellent time, price-wise. Plus, she does amazing work. That is the #1 advice I can offer for everyone on this thread- a great photographer is absolutely worth the money!!!

Sims2Fan- I love the site you're having the wedding at! WOW! And Susa, do take pictures at your director's daughter's wedding for us- that site looks incredible!

So how are everyone's plans coming along?
My dress, veil, and crenoline all came in yesterday- Valentine's Day. I took that as a good sign

That is very exciting!
when is your fitting?
I was told my dress would take about 2 months so it should arrive sometime in March or April. I'm going with my bridesmaids next Saturday to pick out their dresses.

So I have a dumb question.
I JUST got engaged, and don't even have a date set yet. But I want to know something.
I've been looking at dresses online, and most of the dresses I like aren't carried in my area. We have a HUGE David's Bridal and a couple of small boutiques, but that's IT. I like some of the David's stuff, but none of it is quite unique enough for me.
If I find something online that I like, can I have it sent to a local store to try, or do I have to drive all the way to the nearest retailer who carries that brand?

Unfourtunatley you'd probably have to drive to the store that carries the designer
but what I would suggest is to go to a few bridal stores and tell them what your budget is and then the styles you like. Be very open minded. I tried on at least 15 dresses and I ended up picking out a dress that I thought I would never want.

We're going to see the florist about my free bouquet. We still don't have colors down for sure. We're looking at gold and blue, because Jon and I met at WVU and got engaged in Morgantown and hope to move back there soon.We are also looking at pink and an emerald green because I really like those colors. Jon was thinking of the girls in a yellow dress with blue flowers and the boys in dark a blue tux. Mean while I was thinking the girls in emrold green dresses and pink flowers and the boys with green vest and ties witha classic black tux. It's really going to depend on the dress color. Both my bridesmaids are really pale, so we will see what color looks best.

Meanwhile my mom is determined on me getting cali lilies, those huge white flowers with big thick stems. I'm not so crazy about the idea, but since she's paying for it I have to consider it. I would rather have a simple bouquet of roses with baby's breath as a frame or something. Something simple and elegent.

Maybe you and your mom could compromise, if you are looking for something simple and elegant maybe orchids (they look a little softer than cala lilies) or roses in one colour. That's timeless. All of those flowers are very pricy though...especially cala lilies. I myself am trying to get my boquets dealt with too. So many things to choose from!

Looks like we're too busy planning weddings to post on this thread anymore...haha!
How's everybody doing? Well, we booked our photographer - shoooo - glad that's done and I think we got a pretty good one. A husband and wife couple who use to have their own studio in Manhatten so we feel pretty good about that.

And the bridesmaids dress saga should be put to rest tomorrow.
I think we're getting that satin tea-length dress alfred angelo 6123...Amy, that's too funny you'll going to be wearing the same one!! I STILL keep going back and forth about pink or brown. I like your idea about getting a dress with a brown ribbon but my dress has a ribbon/bow on it and I'm wondering if that would clash. It's been hard trying to round up all 6 bridesmaids...I have one that hasn't been cooperating...I even offered to buy the dress for her and she could pay me back.

Next on the to do list is our tasting...what's everyone having for dinners? We also need to go pick out the cake and the flowers.

Also, where are you going on your honeymoon? We're looking at Jamaica, Mexican Riveria Maya and St. Lucia...any advice there? All inclusive all the way!

Oh and instead of favors, I think we're making a donation to the ASPCA...they will even send you placecards...http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...te_othergiving
Hope everyone is well!!!
I love reading everyone's plans!!

Yeah - that definitely is a good SIGN - good for you!!!

I bought my dress off the rack so it's sitting over in the bridal shop waiting for me to get shoes. I still have to get a veil or borrow my friend's.
Oh decisions, decisions!

Wow Susan!!, your plans are really coming together!!, sounds like you've been one very busy bee

I'm going bridesmaid dress shopping tomorrow with my 4 bridesmaids. My one bridesmaid just called me last night to break the news to me that she is pregnant again!!(this is her 4th baby..she's had a baby a year since 2003). She's going to be 8 months pregnant when the wedding comes around and she still wants to be in the wedding party but now she says she'll have to find someone to make her dress. I told her that I'm sure there are designers that make maternity dresses...ahhh!!, she's been difficult the whole time though..so frustrating!!. She's wanted to wear a different dress since the very beginning. Ah that feels better **vent vent**

Jeff and I have also registered. One at Canadian Tire (for all of our cooking and camping needs)
and Sears. Jeff will be coming home on Sunday (I haven't seen him in a month) and were hopefully going to add some items.

I'm also in the process of trying to get the whole wedding flowers dealt with as well. I went to the florist about a month ago and the $$ quote they came back with was a little steep so now I have to find flowers that are elegant that won't break the bank!...any suggestions??
