Great news.... we got our ceremony site and are going to sign the contract for the reception tomorrow.

Jon and I are getting married at Chirst the King Chapel at Mercyhurst College with a reception at the Ambassador in Erie on June 16, 2007. I can't wait!!!

Our wedding is going to be very simple.

We're getting married through the courts, then we're going to have a big huge party...

All the money we save, we're going to spend on a honeymoon!

Me, growing up with my dad and being a major introvert, I never really dreamt about walking down the aisle. As long as I am married to the man I love, no matter how much it costs, i'm happy

We haven't set a date yet. But June 14th will be our 3 year anniversary

I've booked my venue! Its called Smedmore House in Dorset.

Here are two pics:

Its been in my fiance's family for many generations and it was very important for him that we get married there. The wedding date has been set for the 25th of August and we will be having a marquee! I'll share more plans as the desicions get made.

I can't wait to see pictures!!
I did try on the one with the navy that went all the way down the back...it certainly was a breathtaking dress, but because I'm so short and petite it was a bit overwhelming on me.

I'm trying to pick my wedding cake! I would really love it if you guys can give me some advice.

Please check out the cakes called woven ribbon and faberge.

Here is the link:

I love the woven ribbon cake while my mom love faberge please let me know which one you prefer.

Thank you!

they are both really beautiful cakes, but i think i like the color in the woven ribbon cake, and while it's gorgeous, it has a simpler feel to it, which i prefer over all the intricacies of the faberge cake.

Does it have that layover with the champagne color on the inside as well as the ivory?

Susan, I'm letting each girl pick out her own bridesmaid dress. We're getting them from David's Bridal. They're going to be in this light-brown color called "latte" and they'll carry pink Gerbera daisies with a sunflower in the middle (that's what the plan for now is anyway). I work with a guy who DJs on the weekend, so he's going to DJ for me at an amazing (in a very good way) price. Susan, you'll be happy to know that "Livin' On A Prayer" and "Always" by Bon Jovie are both at the top of the "Must Play" list! We're sticking with mostly Southern rock and stuff like Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind, and Fire. Our "Do Not Play" list includes most rap, pop, Macarena, and the Chicken Dance!!!
Ha, that's awesome - glad to hear Jon will be at your wedding too!!

Thanks Amy and to all of you for the good advice. Update on the DJ situation (I know it's been a while but I am up to my ears here at work!!) All is fine, I reassured my friend and husband that I don't want just a Rocker wedding, although it would be fun, I need to play music for all of the guests and ages, like the songs you mentioned above...we want it to be a big fun party for everyone. So hopefully all will be fine.

Bridesmaids dresses - strapless a-line, here's the one we picked from www.alfredangelo.com either 6123 or 6837 Here's where you guys come in - should I go espresso or pink, long or tea-length? I want the girls to carry pink roses...and I keep thinking about how HOT it's going to be in Aug.

Anyone pick out a photographer yet? What prices are you guys seeing? We met with a couple and I think we're leaning towards one that gives us ALL of the negatives, proofs and CD of all the photos. But these guys are so expensive!!! .
