I found my cat yesterday morning lying against the bathtub. Thats very wierd cuz she hates the bathroom. I noticed her limping, so I picked her up and put her on my bed, tried to get her to walk, she couldnt very well. Her legs dont seem to be the problem. She ate a little that night, and drank a little. She drank more today, and peed in her litterbox I put beside her last night. Today, she has been very shaky, cant really stand up or sit up without shaking a lot, and shes EXTREMELY skinny. I think she has a VERY bad case of worms. She is all skin and bones, when she is lying down, you could knock her over by blowing on her almost. It;s so bad and im terrified. My dad FINALLY agreed to take her to the vet tomorrow. Im afraid it might be too late...any tips anyone? Im so scared for her.

I`m so glad your Dad has agreed to take her to the vet. Tell him I said "THANK YOU"
I`m praying for your kitty that she will be OK. Please let us know what the vet says tomorrow. I`m so sorry she is sick...and I know that you love her.

I am sorry that she had to be this ill before anything is done for her medically. She didn't get this sick over night.

Actually as stupid as it may sound...she did. She was fine until yesterday morning. She was always skinny, but I figured thats just the way she was. We have 2 other dogs and another cat, and they are fine so I dont know why they wouldnt have it and she does.

Your word choice of 'EXTREMELY skinny' implied a dramatic weight loss.

I dont know what happened. It just seems like she was fine before, and now she is so skinny, and I dont know how it happened so fast.

Does anyone think it sounds like worms? Or am I the only one?

My kitty was just told she has IMMUNE MEDIATED HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA she is very skinny from it. She was just laying around she was eating some but not a whole lot. Look at this site: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_imha.html

I brought her to the vet and the vet said she was very sick. My dad told me on the way to the vet that he had very little money to spend on the cat. The vet told us she had to be on liquids and a heating pad and be left there for a few days and she told us it would cost at least $350 to $400. We ended up putting her to sleep. I didnt want her to suffer anymore. I held her head as they did it, and my I caught my dad wiping his eyes when we were out of the room. He had been crying a little too. I feel better now because I know shes not suffering anymore, but I miss her. The vet didnt even know what was wrong with her, just that she was really sick. Her temp. was not even 35 degrees she said.

I am so sorry for your loss. Tigger will be in my prayers tonight.

I made my banner with photoshop. Its definitely not my best work. I did it really quickly just to get pics up. I'm in the middle of making a better one. I'd be willing to help you make one if you'd like. You can send me a private message if you're interested!
