Diarrhea - contagious?

I do have an strange coincidence... As those of you have read on my "Kitty not quite right" post, my cat Whiskers has been having diarrhea... As it turns out, so had my hubby for a week, and just when he was getting better, then I have had it for a week. Could it be we got it from the kitty or he got it from us?? We don't even give the cat table scraps. I know that it is highly unlikely, but isn't that weird?

That is weird!! But defenetely a coinsidence, I think.

Probably a coincidence but have you considered that the cause could be the water? I'm sure that's the only thing that all of you may have consumed that's the same. Just a thought.

I would have to say it may be a fluke. Most of the time it's from some sort of bacteria or parasite. You all would have had to eat or come into contact with the same thing. While there are a few things that can be passed from animals to humans most are not.
