This is more for clarification purposes than anything, but this is something that has become an issue recently. As you all know, this website is a business and attracts advertisers as the main means to keep this place running. As such, it has come to our attention that some people are using their signatures as a full on business card/advertisements.

Regardlings links to your personal or commercial websites in signatures. You are allowed to post one line, discreet links to your website(s) in your signature, with no verbage to promote it (i.e. Sale going on now!, Come see my products!, Check out my photographs! with or without exclamation points
). Also, please use 1 or 2 sized fonts - no huge fonts to attract additional attention to it.

Long and short of it: You are allowed a single link per website, with only the name of the website. If you would like more than that, please contact Hissy, our marketing director: [email protected]

Thank you!

i am confused though. this site is a business, attracts advertisers...but people with their own business cant have any type of advertisement on their link of their own business (except for the one word link or whatever?)?? i dont even have my own business so it doesnt affect me but i am just confused on some of these things. im sure there are people on here that promote this site on other sites or places..but we shouldnt promote things on here? if someone could maybe elaborate why that would be helpful, lol. thanks!

Where the line is being drawn is those who are out and out advertising.

"As a member of TCS if you buy one cat bed, you get a cat brush free.."

"Special this month- all catnip 10% off

If in doubt refer to my signature, you can see what is allowed. A discreet text link to the website- that's it-

The basic elaboration is that our Market Place forum is a forum where people pay for the ads they post. It isn't fair to have some members paying for advertising space while others create free ads in their signatures.

The only links I have are to pages for people to spay/neuter or visit a website I have created for homeless pets in Virginia. No advertizing that would conflict with TCS...is that ok?

Links to sites, promoting cat welfare ARE permissable. Commercial advertising isn't.
