You are very correct it does not.
It is the good qualities that the military tries to instill in those boys
Such as, honor, respect, integrity, responsibility.
When it comes to kids and saying stuff like "be a man join the army" it is very psychologically damaging to a lot of kids. It is exactly the same as pointing a gun in thier faces. Of course you would have to take education and Psychology classes to know that.
If it is honor and respect you are talking about, the parents enstill these values in thier children NOT the army. I have met many army guys and the only one that all those qualities you listed already had them BEFORE he joined. The rest including my cousin's husband, are anything but respectful and responsible. Unless you call quiting every job you have, and quiting college responsible.
"today's youth" are not losing these qualities. They are teenages, and preteens and kids in general. They have been acting the same since the dawn of time. You are just noticing how they act now but you didn't when you were a kid.
