Does anyone know about bumps on cats???

I was petting Doofus and I noticed that he has a pea sized bump on the back of his ear where the ear and skull meet...

Its not a bite or anything, as it is skin color.....its not warm, so i dont think it is an infection, and doofus didnt seem to flinch or even care, so i dont think its painful, as doofus is a cry baby when it comes to pain....

It is mobile..I can move it around with ease, so its not hardened fat like my dog gets......

Anyways any ideas...
Emmet has a urinalysis thursday morning, and we are just going to bring Doofus in at that time to see if they will take a look........

Thanx guys

My cat got something like that soon after he got his shots, at the injection sight. I brought him in, they took a biopsy of it to make sure it wasn't cancerous (it wasn't) and then said not to worry about it. It has since gone away.

My Juniper (RB) got a lump in fornt of his ear that was a harmless cyst, and after a few months the vet took it away.

Well i got an early appointment for the vet to see Doofus and his bump....

heres the dilly.....

Its not sheading skin...so they cant do an impression

Its too flat...so they cant aspirate it

So the only option is to put him under and take it off completly.....

but......She is hesitant to put doofus under for something like this....which she thinks may be a wart......

But she said to keep a good eye on it, and if it changes, or grows or we just feel we really want them to take it off they will....

But as of right now....she weighed the risks of anethisia and the fact that cats are prone to benign skin issues, she said at this time it is not nessesary...but in the end it is our choice on what to do......

Though besides a little wax in his ears Doofus is completly healthy.....so yeah...I guess i will keep an eye on it....and if doofus has to be put under (knock on wood) for any reason (teeth cleaning?) ill have em take it off then.....

what do you guys think???

My cat Peabody had a lump like that on his side, and we left it alone for a few years until it started to fester and then we had it removed. I'd be in the camp of just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't change and it's not bothering him then leave it alone.
