Yeah vets are so sweet.

When our little Brandi passed away our vet sent us a card and a vase of flowers.

That is so sweet! Our vet back home did that for us too when our dog Callie died, after we had her for 12 years!

That was really nice of him. You know that you have a good vet when they do that.

Our vet does that, too. And it does mean so much, doesn't it? I still have my card from when my dog Logan passed.

My vet did that for Tommie last yr. My friends vet sent a frameable poem along with her cats paw prints (they took them before they put her to sleep). I thought that was a nice touch so I told my vet about it.

How sweet! My vet at the time sent a sympathy card when Willy was PTS, along with making a donation to an animal welfare organization on his behalf.

When my dog Max and sister's cat, Justin passed, our vet sent cards and clay-fired paw prints of both.

When Booker went to the RB the vet gave us a little plastic plaque with his name and passing date on it. WHen we moved I took it with me because I knew that if I left it in the yard where he was buried the landlords would just throw it away. I have it in a box of my keepsakes at my mom's house.

when my first cat was poorly, i took her to the vet, who told me she had 1 of 3 possible problems, 2 of which i knew were fatal. so i decided to treat her for the non-fatal problem, hoping that would be it. at the time, testing for all 3 was very cost prohibitive. anyway, she did not make it, so i took back her remaining pills, thinking they could possibly re-use them [i was young, didn't know any better]. when they asked why i had stopped giving them to her, i explained she had passed. about a week later, i got a sympathy card! i was so impressed! when Mouse died, that vet did not send one - even tho he had cared for her for over a week. i don't think they realize sometimes how much we're touched by these little things.

When we lost Simba our vet sent us a 2 page handwritten letter telling us we made the right decision because he really was very sick and how she knew we were missing him, etc.

Then about 3 weeks later we got a card from the University of Guelph (where they have the reputation as being the best vet school in Canada and you needs grades of at least 90% to just get accepted) saying that a donation had been made to their university in Simba's name by our vet.

She is just the most awesome vet we've ever had.
