Goodmorning fellow kitty kats

I am dragging, still battling this cold. UGH. I hate being sick, although I am not sick enough to be in bed. Just sick enough that I need a box of tissues everywhere I go!!

My son had an asthma attack last night, so we had to go to the doctor. Boy, do I wish there was a cure for it. He takes a daily pill called Singulair which really cuts back on the attacks. But it does not eliminate them completely, so we still have to carry around an inhaler everywhere he goes. Its so frustrating. I guess I should be greatful though that it is under control.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all! I am finally feeling back to almost normal. I had a nasty migraine for the last 2 days. I couldn't even open my eyes for most of the time. At least I got to spend quality time with the furbabies!

What a bunch of sickies we are!
Daniela, I hope your cold gets better soon. I know how miserable you feel. Adrienne, I can't even imagine a migraine. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

The weather is beautiful here, so we're going to McDonalds for lunch. Makes sense, huh? Actually, I'm planning on taking the kids to the park this afternoon, so playing inside for lunch will be ok. I think we'll have some time this morning to get outside too. It's supposed to be in the mid-70s! I love spring. The only bad part is that I love to open the windows to air out the house, and the cats have figured out how to bust out the screens to get outside. It's very frustrating.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi friends!

Ady, I had wondered where you were! I'm glad your migraine went away. I get them occasionally but I've never had one that lasted 2 days! You poor thing.

Daniela, I've never dealt with asthma attacks or known anyone who has had them. What brings them on? Pollen? dust?

Dawn, enjoy the day! I'm jealous, I never get to play outside.

Well I'm off to Miami after work today. They've got a car picking 3 of us up to take us to the airport. We're flying out of Reagan National in DC, which is about a 45 minute drive and it didn't make sense for us to all drive seperately since we're on the same flight, so they got us a car. I'm glad because it's less stressful to let someone else worry about traffic and it's nice to get dropped right at the door. I'll be in Miami until sunday morning.

I got my hair cut last night. They cut off 6 inches! It was to the middle of my back and now it's shoulder length. I just needed a change.

have a great day everyone!

Morning all! Was a rocky night for Bailey kitty last night. He slept on my chest in the cat room. I crashed on the couch. Poor kitty, he looks like he has been through a war.
He is eating some and moving more, but he is still not up to par. But he will be in a few days, the vet said it just takes time for the gut to straighten out.

I thought today was Mike's birthday, but I had the date wrong, it isn't until Thursday. My head is so full of math that I can't remember the days I guess. At least I will use that as an excuse.I only have one more class left in this term.

dtolle, sorry you are getting ill, I tell you, I swear by grapefruit seed extract- keeps those cold and flu bugs far away!

ady, I hear you about migraines, I hope they find someway to stop them soon.

Dawn, can I come and play in the park with you and your kids, sounds like a wonderful time. Especially your weather, it is sleeting here right now.

Colby, you have a good and safe trip! Catch some sun while you are there will you, and have a very large seafood salad for me! MMMMMMMM

I will be homeworking today and cleaning cages, not very exciting, but there will be a crew here at 9:00 to help us remodel so that is cool. Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good morning all!

I am very tired this morning. My husband got a phone call at 11:00 pm last night (he is getting into the DJ thing, DJs at a club one night a week and produces a semi-syndicated radio show, so the people he works with generally don't have to do anything in the morning). He just doesn't have any idea how booming and resonating his voice is, so I couldn't sleep until he was off the phone - right around midnight. So I'm draggin' while he is still sleeping at home.

It's supposed to be nice again today and then snow tomorrow. Springtime in Colorado - if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes. I sure wish I could play in the park. Sounds like lots of fun!

Hissy, I am happy that Bailey is doing better, but having a sick kitty is (kind of) like having a sick baby. You can't reassure them that they are getting better, and all they know is that they don't feel good.

AirPrincess have fun in Miami and have a safe trip. I'm jealous - I haven't been able to take a vacation or even go out of town (pleasure or otherwise) for a couple years, except to see family and that's doesn't count.

Ady I can't even imagine having a migraine for 2 days!! I get them occasionally, and I think chopping my head off sounds like a good idea when it's only been 1/2 hour.

I have asthma, a real mild case which in my case is sometimes brought on by stress. The reason attacks come on vary from person to person, but can include pollen/allergens, exertion, altitude, and sometimes for seemingly no reason at all. I am lucky that my asthma didn't develop until I was an adult, just like my father. It has to be hard to watch your child go through that, knowing that all you can do is give him medicine.

Well, I should get back to work...loafing on the job again!

It IS a nice day in Colorado today.
Too bad I have to go to work, I would much rather be out skiing or something... well, anything, really besides work!

Daniela, my daughter has frequent asthma attacks, also. It's scary for all of us, but we've got SOOO much medication on hand for her that we don't usually have to go to the doctor. It's just one of those things we're all learning to live with, and we deal with it one day at a time. I really wish there was a cure, too! I hate seeing her go through this!

Ady ~ I'm glad you're finally feeling better!

Dawn, I hope you have fun with the kids today.

Colby ~ I had my hair trimmed yesterday... but I didn't get hardly ANY cut off! MAYBE 1/8 inch. I never let her take too much off because it takes SOOO long for it to grow! I've been trying to grow mine for 4 years now... and it's only half way down my back. *sigh* I thought I needed a change too... so I had her put it in 2 french braids when she was done trimming it ~ that's plenty of change for me! LOL! Hope you have a good trip to Miami!

Hissy, you need to take a break from math!
Cage cleaning doesn't sound like much fun, but remodeling does... is that a result of the damage done to your place?

valanhb, the good news is that you'll sleep well tonight!

Everyone, I hope you have a terrific day!

Movin' on up!
After reading al these posts, I (almost) feel guilty. I had an easy night, at work and I have today off. The weather, here in Tucson, is beautiful: warm and sunny. The springlike weather has Opie acting like a kitten, my arthritis has eased up, considerably and Bill is more loving, than ever. Sorry to hear about the migraines. I've had them, since age 17. They seem to have decreased, though. Studies show that there may be a hormonal connection, since women get them more than men and they tend to decrease, after age 40. I'm not dumping my Fiorinal, just yet, though.

Colby - It's fun changing your hair! I wish I had that much hair to change. When I had my first kid, I cut it all off (it was to the middle of my back). And I mean, all off, to about an inch I guess. I've been trying to grow it now for about 2 years. It's finally getting longer, but now I've decided to grow out my bangs too, so it's all uneven. I know if I go for a trim, they'll want to even it out, and I don't want it that short.

What are you doing in Miami? It sounds like such fun to go on a trip, even if it is for work. I haven't been anywhere in a very, very long time. Please eat some seafood for me!

Hi everyone!

The weather here is supposed to reach about 60. I wish that I could be outside instead of sitting at my desk answering the phone and staring at my computer.

My husband had dinner cooked for us when I got home from work...it was a nice surprise!
I wasn't expecting it at all.

Two weeks left until the quarter ends for school. Yeah!

Have a great day everybody!

Colby, my son's asthma is caused by activity. Normally he is fine, but once he starts running around outside especially, it tends to act up.
We have been dealing with this since he was 2. He has gone thru an assortment of nebulizers and inhalers and we finally have found a combination that works! Its not that bad, but sometimes when he has an attack and the inhalers aren't helping, then we head to the pediatrician just to be sure.

Thanks for asking, he is doing fine today.

Daniela, I know how stressful that can be. My son uses inhalers but for a bit of a different reason. He was born with a trachea that was too small and when he has a cold, the normal throat swelling and congestion can be fatal to him. We use a combo of inhalers to help keep his breathing passages as open as possible. Theres nothing scarier than sitting in a hospital or Doctors office with a child that can hardly breathe. Thankfully with my son, he is outgrowing his condition- as he gets older his trachea is catching up. But, I can totally sympathize with the worry and frustration.

Well, as for my day, its a lazy rainy day here. I love the rain sometimes though- its so cozy to sit in a nice warm house with a cup of coffee and watch the storm outside-not to mention pouring rain at night makes me sleep like a baby

I'm not much looking forward to tomorrow- I had laser surgery on my right eye a year ago to repair damage caused by a virus. I woke up this morning to distorted vision in that eye again- so I have to go see my opthamologist tomorrow. I'm really hoping I won't need to have the laser done again- its a horrible experience. I was terrified the last time.

Hubby hit my with another bomb this morning as well- he wants to move to the next town from us where he works. He hates the commute (almost an hour of straight highway driving) and its a treacherous drive in the winter for him. I am mostly worried about yanking my daughter out of school and putting her in a new one. We won't be moving until after she finishes this shcool year out, but I'm still concerned. I'm afraid she'll find it hard to adjust and make new friends. Anyone out there have a similar experience and maybe some advice?

Well, there. I've written my novel for the day

Well, it's been a busy couple of days.

My daughter is sleeping at her dad's house tonight. He lives quite a distance from here, so I hope he gets her to school on time.

I am now a welfare mom. Hmm. It took 2 days and I have a few more forms to fill out and return, but they processed us in less than a week, so I must look really needy on paper! I plan for this to be a short-term thing, just to tide us over until I'm working. I just don't want her to go hungry or need medical care that I can't pay for.

Sparky has a really bad injury to his tail, but I've finally found a vet who'll take payments from me. We have an appointment for Friday, but hopefully I will have money before then and be able to get him in a little sooner. It's still going to be $100 or so, but 3 or 4 payments makes it affordable.
