I am pretty sure my overweight male cat hasn't peed in 2 days. I just got back from the vet where he seems ok. His bladder was small (that is a good thing) but he was put on antibiotics. Of course the vet said that Tornado is the poster child of a cat that will end up with diabetes. I knew he needed to lose weight which is why I have been searching for a new food.
Anyway, the vet felt like Tornado is peeing somewhere if not the litter box as his bladder was not enlarged. If he were peeing under the bed or off in a corner, wouldn't I smell it? The cats stay on the upstairs level of the house as they don't like the dog who is downstairs. This gives them the bedrooms and bathrooms only. I really think I would know if he were peeing somewhere other than the litter box, but now I' worried what I might find later. I have both cats closed into the playroom with their food and litter box at least until tomorrow. The vet wants me to keep an eye for a blockage. He said I will know because Tornado with yell in pain and will go to the litter box often.
Please tell me how soon I would smell something if he is peeing outside of the litter box.
