What am I saying!!!
Well I have been in a spring flower bulb planting frenzy the last two saturdays cause the bulbs have been going on sale.
Yesterday 81 bulbs-13 are the giant alliums. Those are a real pain to plant as they have to go down 16 inches deep and the bulbs themselves are big!! Even with the bulb auger for my drill it took 2 hrs to plant them. Kept on hitting roots or rocks and since the power cord injuried m leg last week when I planted 62 bulbs I went even slower!!
A few days before that I planted tulips and mini daffodils. So total is about 180 bulbs for this fall!! Plus most of my fall tasks are done-garden shed sealed up as we repaired the front door again. A wood door was not in hindsight a good choice (or perhaps this style!!)
Now just have to carry into the basement out firewood for the winter and spread some mulch in a couple of weeks and the tasks should be about done.
I should take a picture of all the plants I'm overwintering in the basement.
Its a jungle down there!!
But I'm trying something new this yr in my garden shed I have some fall garden mums I'm going to winter over in their pots along with a couple shrubs I didn't get planted. I'm hoping they will survive over the winter. It might give me a new plant buying strategy for the fall when shrubs go on sale!!
