someplace so boring i am slowly but surely losing
I have of course seen "Sofie Galophie" in fur pics, and i, like everyone else, think she is beautiful.

I was wondering, does anyone else have a green eyed calico? I looked on petfinder for photos, but they don't even have many actual calicos, not to mention green eyed ones. Is this a fairly rare trait?

Thanks,
Joecool

I have a green eyed tortie which is pretty similar just without the white
. Her eyes are beautiful! But maybe you are referring to a specific breed? My girls a moggie.

Your right about the green eyes not looking "as green" in photos. I have the same problem catching the true color of my Lilos green "lime like" eyes in picstures!!

And honestly its a dog-on shame!

Sorry ppl, i forgot to check here.

I am talking about moggies or purebreds, as long as they have the eyes and the fur, i mean like the "galofie" in fur pics. I think i have seen one like her on someone else's siggy. New question: does anyone have a calico or torti with really good contast, not blended colors?

I really like the green eyes and the beautiful contrast, and have never seen a cat like the "galofie" before. I just wondered if anyone else has one anything like her.

Thank you guys,
Joecool

Marlee has some pretty good contrast on her. I may be wrong, but I think the whole tortoise shell coloring is always at least a little blended. Calicos are usually more contrast/spotted. (If i'm wrong, someone correct me!) Marlee's face and one of her legs has more contrast than the rest of her body, but its not easily seen in my pics (I think the photo place overexposed them, they are all really bright). But if you want to look at her there is a thread in fur pics here.... http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69490

Well then, back by popular demand, Sofie Galofie:

Sofie is a cutie! Looks like she has quite a bit of attitude to go with her looks, huh?

And yes JoeCool, I think its Rosiemac's whose pretty colors and green eyes show good in her siggy.

Nope!

BTW, I've dug up a whole bunch of photos of her, preparing for another thread in fur pics.

Calicos are basically white cats with patches of red/black (spotted)

Tortoiseshells are blended with red/black and a little cream sometimes (brindled)

Tortie and White is a tortoishell with (usually) white on face, chest, stomach, and feet. Some tortie/whites will be less brindled and more solid patches like a calico. Think of it as color on 75% of the cat (top/back/sides) and 25% white (underneath).

I would call your cat a Tortie and White rather then a calico. She is very pretty marked.

As for eye color, a pedigree calico/tortie will have the proper gold eye color. Mixed breeds have a tendency to have more hazel or green eye color.
