I was talking to someone today about how her roomate used to make her nuts because she didn't colapse the milk jugs when she put them in the garbage & I started to think, "you actually throw empty milk jugs in the garbage?" You see I can't or Jordan will dump my garbage can trying to get the milk jug out (even if I've rinsed it well). I always notice nick-nacks and things that people have out in the open & think "Nope they don't have any cats." So what things do you notice.

I can't have flowers left out on my dining room table...so when my husband gets me flowers I have to put them in a room where the cats don't go in, but then other people can't see them in the open.

I also can't leave the doors open, or the cats will run out.

But I wouldn't change it for the world.

I can't leave open glasses of water on the table! If its not a cup with lid or a closed water bottle, Marlee will drink out of it, or puch it over trying! Also can't leave my contact case on my dresser (or jewelry/hairbands/eyedrops) like I used to because Marlee thinks they are toys, knocks them into the floor, and who knows when I will see it again! But shes my girl, and its all worth it!

Being able to close the door to a room your in without hearing crying and scratching.
Being able to walk in and out of the house freely without being terrified someone you love will get lost.
Being able to walk. Not walk, stumble, walk, stumble, walk, stumble.
Being able to do what you want to do when you want to do it.
Not having bizarre, Stephen King thoughts of something happening in your house while you're gone.
Having it cold if you prefer it to be a bit chilly.
Being able to go on vacation anytime you want, without having to figure out who is going to take care of your most precious, fragile possessions.
Not being at someone's beck and call.

Being able to wake up in the morning without having several pair of gold eyes staring at you or a purry creature(s) lying on your face, nibbling your nose and/or ears, or sticking his/her nose in your eyes.

(I get all of the above)

Non cat owners are always saying things like "Cats can survive on their own outside" or "They'll come back". I always want to ask them how they would like to survive on their own outside.

Being able to sleep past dawn! I don't mind getting up with the sun (or before it in winter) on weekdays, but the weekends are getting to me. I've mastered the fine art of stumbling downstairs and fixing kitty breakfasts, and then going back to bed, but I'm really considering buying two automatic feeders with timers for weekend use.

With cats....No fringey toss pillows, or tassels hanging down.
No leaving small lipsticks etc setting out on the bathroom sink.
No jewelry left on the vanity in the bedroom.
No dangling plants.
No used q-tips or bandaids in the bathroom trash basket.
No more leaving thread or pins and needles out on the sewing table .
That`s about all I can think of at the moments.

Hmm, I see mine have been listed....

Being able to have to doors/windows open
Being able to sleep through the sunrise
Also, being able to walk normally with the lights off. Cat owners know you have to shuffle so you don't accidentally step on a cat.

Being able to eat a snack in bed occasionally without a bunch of mooches getting up in my face.
Being able to read a book without having to hold it up.
Leaving meat on the kitchen counter to cool a bit.

But also ...

Not having any furballs to snuggle.
