Hello, Today Tuffy was sneezing up stuff like he always does and after alot of sneezing he started to sneeze blood all over. I did call the vet right away and she said with his history she thought it was because of dry air in the house from furnace running, she said to watch him and if he starts dripping blood all the time to bring him right in. He seems ok tonite, but I was wondering if this a somewhat normal after being so sick with a feline flu? We lost a little kitten last winter from internal bleeding so I am a little gun shy about this. Tom

Get a humidifier. That should help!

Sneezing blood sounds awfully scary. I've never had a cat with the flu so I don't really know what to say but I hope he gets better soon too!

I have a little humidifier going in our bedroom where he sleeps most of the time. We have a big humidifier but it needs alot of cleaning and the wick thingy replaced but my back is acting up so bad I can't get it in the house from the garage right now. He has been fine all night, he slept in my old rocking chair right next to the bed most of the night and didn't have a sneezing attack that I heard, I was affraid I would wake up and find him bleeding all over the place. I just wish there was more that could be done for him to help his coughing and sneezing. I do think his sence of smell has come back though, for the longest time you could hold treats or whatever in front of him and he didn't react at all, now when I hold my hand out he will sniff it and lick my fingers like the other cats do so maybe with more time he will keep improving on his own. sometimes I wonder where he came from, if there is someone out there that likes him as much as I do or if he was dumped off, or just a sick barn kitty that wandered off. Sorry I got off topic here. He seems to be happy he has a home and someone who cares about him, he does all the normal kitty stuff now and fights and plays with the other cats and sits and purrs away when I pet him, I think he gets upset when I pay attention to the other cats because he will come over and make a big pest out of himself till I pick him up lol. I would of been worried also. Do try and get your big humidifier up and going. My cats have had severe URI ongoing for a few months and the humidifier sure has helped. Mine sneezed terribley but I never saw any sneezing blood. Hope he gest better and no more blood.

Until you get your big humidifier up and running, you could drape wet towels over your radiators, if you have them, or put bowls/pots of water next to or on air vents.

My kit was sick with a URI and she started sneezing blood mixed in with boogers. I called the vet and they said that if there is a lot of sneezing going on, the nasal cavity can get irrated and then there is boold mixed in. They told me that it is pretty normal if the kit is just getting over being sick and don't worry unless blood starts running down her nose. It sounds like the same thing is going on with yours. I know a vaporizor really helped Jasmine. She is now pretty much over her cold, but when she would sneeze, her boogers would get sprayed all over, so now I have blood infused booger stains on my wall in the laundry room. I have scrubbed and scrubbed but the stains won't budge. Good luck with everything!

I have the same thing going on (see my post from today about cat w/ allergy)...Sadie also sneezed blood and got it all over the wall! The vet told me not to worry and it only happened one time (so far). I am going to try some of the advice you are getting.....maybe it will help Sadie get over her snotty sneezes....other than that she appears to be VERY healthy and happy.

My house is old and I know I have mold..so I am thinking that might be Sadie's problem or maybe she is allergic to other cats, as I got 11 inside OR maybe she is allergic to ME!

Hope your kitty will be MUCH better real soon!!!!
