Living in Ontario, where a pitbull ban has recently been put into effect (which I highly disagree with) I feel the need to help people realize that pitbulls themselves are not violent dogs, people who incorrectly raise their pits are the irresponsible ones. The most likely dog to bite you? A cocker spaniel. If you raise your pitbull properly and take him to puppy classes etc. he'll be fine with your cat.

I can testify to that!!!! My 7 year old son was bit on the face by OUR Cocker Spaniel that was raised around our children from 12 weeks until he did this and he was 1 1/2.My son has such HIGH fears of dogs now, that I can't have a dog.
I was stating the thing about the Pit bull...ONLY by my experience. Not personal experience as I'm terrified of Pits, but my best friends. She had a Pit that she raised from 10 weeks old and had a kitten who was 3 months old. They were the BEST of friends until the Pit got an idea in his head that the kitten was prey and snapped it's neck in front of my best friend and her 5 year old daughter. He didn't stop there though, he decided to shake it until there was basically nothing left of the kitten.
ALOT of people think that Rottwheilers are mean.We had a female and she was WONDERFUL around my kids.It DOES matter HOW you raise them.BUT, some are genetically more disposed to be mean or sneaky.

i agree about its how you raise em' From what I hear of the people that currently have the pups, hes the most curious of them all....They even called today telling us how he has been waking them up at 3 am all these nights howling and crying to be let out of the "nursery" so he can run around and play..LOL
I will do my best to raise him with love and encourage a healthy relationship b/e him and Patty and the rest of the family
Thanks for your input Take Care

Well, good to know that you are able to wait to take him home.
6 weeks is far too young...
If they are not willing to keep the puppies another couple of weeks, makes me question the breeder. Screams BYB..which in my books is a

But good luck...

thnaks for the great advice thus far everyone..really appreciate it..Update: No kittens...I'm actually starting to think Patty may not have been pregnant after all..its so odd...If no kittens are produced by Monday I will have my bf take her to the vet for a walk-in so they can examine her and tell me if everything is ok..Maybe I was mistaken after all..it just seemed like the signs were there..she had disappeared from my workplace a week b4 I bought her home, she was getting rounder, eating more, her nipples seemed to be pinkish and a bit bigger ..but maybe not..She seems to be fine..playful and calm..so I know she must be feeling ok..According to my calculations..she should have given birth this week..actually earlier this week..so maybe I was mistaken after all?

Let us know the outcome if you do take her to the walkin clinic. We've had a few cats that seemed pregnant and then they weren't.

Hi Tiffany 14..thanks for the compliment
Well, we are taking her to the vet tommorow for sure..I haven't been able to take her..Been working late hrs at work and my bfs had interviews lined up back to back since he recently lost his job. I'm so confused right now though. Patty has been ok. but since yesterday she started this weird behavior..more so today-actually most of today which is she starts meowing/purring-you know that soft mmmmm sound they make..gosh its hard to explain..lol
I think its just a low toned purr..anyhow she does that and as you pet her its almost as if shes running in place with her hind legs while standing close to the ground. Shes also been releasing a clear liquid down there but in drops-they look like rain dops actually. I don't know if she's maybe starting the birthing process or maybe shes in heat? She seems to want us to pet her...and has visited the nesting areas but only to throw herself in them, roll around and come back out..hm...I feel so bad I haven't been able to take her to the vet all these days..but she has been ok..its just this weird behavior..does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks again..and Take Care all

lol..haha
hopefully the vet can answer the million dollar question tommorow
In the meantime, I'm just observing Patty and doing some internet searches online on signs of a cat in heat ect..she seems to match some of the criteria with the purring and movement of hind legs ect..but none of the articles mention clear liquid coming out...I thought it could have been the first sign of her bag breaking..but maybe not
Thanks again everyone for reading and the input
Will def keep you guys posted

any more news yet? Have you been to the vet??? I am very excited to see how it all works out, yet am anxious at the same time as my cat recently had kittens and we had to do a c-section, she had some genetic problem that was going to make a normal labour impossible so we had to do the c-section to make sure all the kittens and mum would be safe which they are. Just want the best for you and your new family as well.

Tiffany, by what you say, it sounds like your cat is in heat and is not pregnant. As soon as she goes out of heat, you can have her spayed
