Yup! You heard it right....I know , I know...it`s not even Thanksgiving yet...but at Thanksgiving time I`ll be sure to be THANKFUL that my decorating is done.
We even have all the outside lights up. The electric co. will love us for the next 2 months!!!
It takes me about a week to do every year...and I always do it the first week in Nov...so people who know me are`nt too shocked anymore.
Thanks to whoever it was that gave me the idea to put the tree (Trees in my case...I have 4!) up a few days before decorating ....so the cat would investigate and get bored with them....it`s worked out pretty good, although they have stolen a few of the plastic balls off the bottom branches and batted them around a bit.
Trust me I had quite an audiance as I went through all the Christmas storage boxes, strung thousands of lights, hung decorations and made dozens of new ribbon bows. I don`t think my cats have been so intertained, nor been so "intertaining" since they were little kittens! :-) Much fun was had by all!!!
Ya`ll feel free to come on over , see the decorations, and get yourself "in the mood"
P.S. Diane....you will be glad to know that I have NOT started listening to Christmas music yet though!!! ;-)

Wow you sure are ambitous... I make my own wreaths and Kissing balls for outside. So have to get out in the woods on a Sunday to get my fur. Its the only day deer hunters aren't out. I will be getting mine all done right after Thanksgiving. Would love to see some pictures!

Wow Linda, it sounds you have a lot of decorating to do. It might take you until Christmas to get it all done!

Be sure to post pics of your progress!

Oh how I dread that, I have 8 kitties in the house
I think it will take me longer to get the tree up then it will be up
I already know there going to think all that stuff on that tree is there's I know they will, and I have a theif baby who will be hiding everything
I mean she is the busiest, noseist, thief I have yet to see
I have even debated wether I should put it up at all
It's alot of work, I had problems last year with only 3 bothering it,, And the 3 little ones will surely be getting in trouble
Everyone always tells me the tree looks like something you would see at Macey's
Well I'm sure this year it will be looking bargin basement

I'm a northerner and I don't know what they are either.

I won't decorate till Thanksgiving, but I may start at work a little early. I'm turning my big filing cabinet into a chimey with Santa poking out the top. That's my plan anyway. As well as other things. I won't do my outside lights on my deck too early either. Last year we had some kids randomly remove bulbs so they almost all went out. They just droped the bulbs there too! Good thing I have tons of extra lights from my wedding.

I love decorating. The craft fair last weekend had tons of great Christmas stuff. It deffinatley got me in the mood to decorate!

O.K. - Kissing balls are like mistletoe. I'm not certain why they are going outside though unless you get kissed all the way up to the house. Crap, I even have one in my house and I don't get smooched. I think gardenandcats meant she was going into the woods to get branches off the fir trees Here is a kissing ball http://www.designsbyholiday.com/kissballs.html

Yep I meant fir! As in fir boughs to make the wreaths and kissing balls. I guess I have cats on the brain when I typed fur
. The link for the kissing balls are what I make. I hang two outside my door and two on my arbor. Will post some pics when I have decorated..

Oh, now those are cool! I`ll have to make one too. I`ve heard of mistletoe kisses before , but never a kissing ball!
I`m going to be taking pictures, but was wanting to wait til next week. We are supposed to get snow then and at least the outdoor pics will look more "Christmasy" then.
I still have not figured out how to post pics...but I still have a sweet gal on my yahoo messneger who is going to try to walk me through it...when I`m ready. (If she has`nt given up on me yet!) When I get the pics taken and developed I`ll probably be ready to see if I can learn how!
Happy decorationg to you all !
Linda
