I'm new to the world of owning a cat. Boogie is about 12 weeks old, and I've noticed in the last few days that she's had a bit of diarrhea. Today I noticed there was a little blood in it. I'm not sure what's normal for a kitten, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Its normal for kittens to have loose stool but not diarreah. In young kittens their immune systems are weak and suseptible to parasites of all varieties. Has your kitten been wormed yet? Has she had a stool test? It could be anything but I would definitely get her seen. Parasites are pretty easy to treat and are pretty normal in kittens of that age.

Well, I guess diarrhea is a bad word. It's not excessive or anything. It's just loose as you said. The people I got her from found her taped up in a box in a park. So, I'm not sure if she's been wormed or not. I doubt it.

Also, when should she get her shots?

She needs to see a vet, have you taken her in? Poor kitty being left in a taped up box! Hell isn't good enough for scum that does that to a kitten

BLess you for taking her in! It is likely she has worms or other parasites and a vet can easily check how to treat her. Most parasites are easily controlled with the right meds. Don't buy over the counter stuff as you don't know what she might have and some products can be very harmful

It is common for kittens to have loose stool with a bit of blood, due to parasites. Make an appointment for her to see the vet as soon as possible so she can have an exam, be dewormed, begin her vaccine series, and be scheduled to be spayed.
