My cat Tux is about 1 1/2 years old. He was a very sick stray that I adopted 8 months ago and nursed (slowly) back to health. About six months ago I adopted another undernourished pregnant stray (about 7 months old). She had three kittens. We kept one male and gave away the other two to a good home. Although Tux is a bit of a loner, all of the cats seem to get along. However, recently I noticed that Tux has started to lick then pull out large tuffs of fur from his other two companions. Is this acceptable behavior? The mother and kitten don't seem to mind. However, I don't know if he is behaving aggressively or if it is okay for him to ingest so much fur. Any advice?

I would think it was BAD for him. They tend to get hairballs from licking their own fur.Add to that another 2 cats, and it sounds like it could be a bad outcome.I'm not a Vet though and am new to this Kitten/cat Mom thing.
Have you contacted your Vet and asked why he's doing it?Maybe he's really stressed over something.
