Hi All! I am in need of some advice. My kittie Pixie, who's 6 months old, is constantly eating Pepper's (she's 4 y/o) food. The vet said that's fine, it wouldn't hurt her anyway. So I was thinking maybe I could just start slowly switching her to the adult food or is it still too soon???
Also, this keeps Pepper from eating Pixie's kitten food (which she does every so often) which I know is not good for her in the long term.

Soooo...what do you guys think?

You could also feed both cats a food suitable for "all life stages", like Felidae, Solid Gold, Innova Evo, Serengeti, etc.. There are more suggestions here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69047
Thanks so much!

My vet said it is okay for a kitten over 6 months to eat adult and evan senior food ... Jcat has a good point with all stage... I would look for the highest protein

why not just switch them to a food that is appropriate for all lives stages such as :

Felidae
Life's Abundance

there are a few other. That would solve all the problems. My Loki is on Life's Abundance.

I would not switch a 6 month old onto a "for adults" formulated food. I would be much more comfortable if your adult is eating a "formulated for all lifestages food". Not sure what you are feeding, so perhaps that is already what you are using

I don't know much about nutrition, but it seems a little early to switch. My vet says 1 year.

I meal feed Prego and Polly and watch them like hawks. It's a royal pain because I'm constantly taking their heads out of each other bowls
I can't put Polly in another room because she'll cry, so I just have to watch them.
