Well as my organization continues I now almost have my craft/computer room in order. I have found that I have ALOT OF FELT!!!!! I big rubbermaid roughneck container STUFFED FULL OF FELT....

But anyhow I have an older dresser that I keep fabric and fabric remnants in.
I have about 6 lengths of fabric that I have bought in the past to make various articles of clothes. Well that isn't going to happen anymore.
I usually donate all my "stuff" to good will but wouldn't there be some sort of organization that would take this fabric??? Nothing fancy different cotton/blends??
Any ideas would be welcome!!!

Would a church group take them? I know some make clothes and or quilts for people that need them.

As far as your organizing - SLOW DOWN -
you are making the rest of us look bad! I am also on an organization kick, but I am not accomplishing things quite as fast as you are!!

How about a local theater group, or children's theater group, for costumes? Other children's programs may have a use for the felt for arts and crafts. Or maybe a children's hospital?

I have lots of use for the felt-this yrs Christmas gifts for instance!!
But I'll check with the local theatre group.
I have my garden shed "organized, the attached garage, the basement (need some more shelves though!! Our bedroom is done. The "biggest room yet is the kitchen-the recipes are all done though and some stuff left in the family room!!
If I didn't keep busy all I would do is read or watch TV!!

try non profit daycares or hospital childrens wings... I'm sure they can use it for crafts. If you don't find anything, you can use it to put on the bottoms of statues and figurines to keep them from scratching wood (my dad used to always do that)

could it be used to make pet beds or blankets? I don't know how washable felt is. I think donating it for kids at hospitals or daycares is a great idea though!

On the west side of... of... somewhere.

When my mother pared down her fabric masses a few years back (she's sick of sewing), she took a ton (literally) of the fabric down to the local elementary school. The kindergarteners and preschoolers use fabric for crafts. You could call the nearby elementary school and see if they'd love some.

Some of my mom's stuff was from way back when i was a kid, in the 70's. I shudder to think what those poor kids have been subjected to
She used to make ALL my clothes (barring undies and socks), which, of course, I hated. Those infernal flood-pants... she never made my pants the right length. Just about the only things she makes anymore are her own clothes. Trying to figure out what her size is, is nearly impossible. having my dad sneak through her drawers to help me figure her size out IS Mission Impossible. I went through all of this trouble so I could buy her a cardigan for Christmas last year. The woman doesn't buy a single item of clothing for herself (again, barring shoes, socks and bras... yes, she makes her own undies... So. NOT. Going there.) The cardigan was apparently massive on her (I swear I calculated her bra size to bust size properly... the math should have worked), and I told her she could return it, only if she promised not to use the 'money' on someone else. She had to use it for herself. I still don't know if she kept the sweater.

But, i digress, check your local elementary schools. day care places might like it too... It never hurts to ask.

We have a local group of seniors that gets together every week and makes quilts that they then donate. You could check with the local senior center.

There's no place like home
Call around local Humane Societies. Ours is always on the lookout for fabrics to make beds, toys, hammocks for cages, etc. They get people like me to turn the fabric into useful things.

Girl guides and boy scouts make crafts out of felt and other things all the time I was a Guide leader and crafts were a staple durring our meetings. Maybe you can find an organization like that in your area, i'm sure they would appreciate the donation.

I was thinking any hospital, children or adult, usually have a group of "pink ladies" or volunteers who make things for the patients, ie. small pillows, small stuffed animals etc...
