My cat loves sweet tea??

My cat Little Boy LOVES sweet tea. Its never seemed to bother him but I worry about what it could do to him in the long run. He's neutered and I know sometimes you have to be careful about some things you give neutered cats over a long period of time.

I don't know if it is healthy, but my cats love Trader Joe's Chia Tea. It really annoys me to sit down to relax with a cup of warm tea, only to find a kitty sticking their face in it! I swear, last Christmas, Garfield climbed the Christmas tree to distract me as the girls drank my tea!

I just keep my hand on the mug, now, or drink it in peace at work.

I would not advise you allow your cat to drink any tea. Tea contains theobromine which over time is toxic to the liver and kidneys in a cat. Also the sugar would be a factor. If you cat wants tea, then fix her some catnip tea, available anywhere from health food stores to pet supply companies. But please keep straight tea away from your cats.

I might just have to try that catnip tea. And try to keep the cats head out of our cups. It's funny, he even has to drink out of our cups if we have water. Even if their water is fresh and I put ice in it. It's better stolen out of our cup. Thanks for the advice
