Aww...poor Serenity!

I hope she's feeling better today!

She really is getting so big! She doesn't look all that "dilute" anymore...or is that just the way it looks on the photos?

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Serenity is feeling more like herself today. She's more playful and active with an improved appetite!
She's still being particular to not put much weight on her injured paw and desires to snuggle up and sleep even more than usual, so we're having lots of extra lovey time!

Our dressing change was quite the adventure! I cuddled her like a baby wrapped in a blanket with her little foot sticking out. She was so not pleased, but did really great!
Removing the old dressing was really the most difficult part. Her boo boo is so sensitive, and her entire leg was trembling lightly as I worked with it.
Once the bandage was off she stretched and stretched her little foot! Over and over she did this, it must have felt so great to get the bandage off, so I held her a while as she got a little exercise to her paw. The site is healing nicely with no symptoms of infection although her little paw pad is still a little swollen. After securing her new bandage, she had to go all around shaking her little foot all over the place just as if it was a brand new unusual feeling all over again!
Mommy's bandage isn't quite as lovely as the Vet's, but we feel we did a suitable job.

Sierra supervised the entire process to be sure we did everything correctly. Both of my sweet girls are now having a lovely late morning snooze!

It sounds like Serenity is quite a little trooper.

Stephanie, I just love reading your posts. The way you describe your precious girls is so sweet and your love for them is so touching!

Chris asked if Serenity's boo boo was rewrapped in purple this morning because my silly girl managed to remove her bandage! It was quite a surprise when she got up in my lap and proceeded to lick her toes on her back right paw! So, once again, much to her disappointment, we applied her bandage. I had avoided placing but a tiny rim of the tape on her fur because it was so difficult to get the tape off without pulling her sweet hair, but it is now on there more securely, and yes, it's still purple!

Never a dull moment, indeed! My girls do see to it that I have my hands full! Purple definitely is her color! Thank you for sharing her healing process with us!

I've been off work with her all week, and tonight is my first night away at work.
Sure am looking forward to getting home to my girls!

Thank you so much for caring about my little baby girl! Our apologies for the delay in checking in, along with working over, our computer felt the need to misbehave today.

Sierra and Serenity greeted me at the door with the sweetest song!
Serenity was such a good girl and kept her bandage on all night long!
She was such a hungry girl, too! She ate two nice size servings of her meal and would have kept eating, too, that just didn't seem like the best idea, though, for her tummy's sake. She doesn't enjoy her antibiotic, but is taking it very well. It seems to have given her a mild case of diarrhea, though. She is already getting acidophilus with each meal.

Her Dr's office called today just to check in on her! What wonderful, personal care they offer!
Sierra, Serenity, and I are so happy to be home tonight to snuggle up!
