I went to teacher's college back in the mid 80's and completed my Dip of Teaching and then went back a few year later and completed my B of Ed. It's a great/exhausting job!!
I would love to go back one day and do my masters.....maybe when the kids are grown up....

I attended Western Connecticut State University for two years and then transferred to Marywood University for the fall of 2002. I graduated last December with a degree in English.

I'm now back at Marywood as a part of their Reading Education master's degree program.

Went and got a B.A. in communications, then after trying four times, earned my master's degree in religious studies in '03. No more school for me now for a long time!

I never went to college. I was too busy being a freaking wife and working.

I make more money than most people I know who *did* go to college & get those expensive degrees. And I don't have any student loans!

I voted have degree, but there definitely should have been a column for "will be going forever!" I finished my B.A. in International Relations, and am now 1 long month away from being 1/2 done with my J.D.!!! So, with CLE, I guess I really will be going for the rest of my life...

oh the career paths we choose!

I went to a Community College, and recieved my Associates of Science in Business Management & Administration. I absolutely loved college-I graduated in May and got a job in June!

I was always told that people with only their Associates degree (2 years) never make as much money as people with their B.A's (4 year + )
....that frusterates me a lot, but all of my friends who went to a 4 year, all either transferred to a smaller community college, or grauated from a 4 year with their B.A's, and now cannot find jobs, after they have all graduated at least 2 years ago. And-they can't find any kind of job in their job field that they graduated for. Here I am with a well paying job (true, I hate the people I work with!) But, I do love what I do, and I have a job to pay those bills!

Also-my cousin graduated from a community college, with only her A.S...and she is making well over $500,000 a year with her 2 year degree-See! People CAN make money with only a 2 year degree!!

You should have had a column "Went forever". Undergraduate and graduate school was a grand total of 11 1/2 years for me, minus one year for a much needed mental health break.

I started in the medical/nursing field and then decided that I wanted to do my lifelong dream of flying and left school to pursue that.

I went through a "fast track course" of paralegal certification at the school of law. I have my certificate, but have to keep up with CLE's to keep it updated.

Basically, a college offers undergraduate degrees (Bachelor of Arts/Science), whereas a university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, e.g. doctorates. We generally say "She's going to college..." regardless of whether it's a college or a university. There are some deviations. I graduated from a university, but my diploma says "SJU - The College", because the "college" referred to full-time day studies, and not the part-time night courses (which also led to degrees). Colleges often specialize, for example, in nursing, teaching, or agriculture.

Wow... I am glad to see so many of you made it through college. I guess it is only for some people. I would have finished my degree, but I ran out of money!

I finished my undergraduate degree in May, in Biomedical Science with a double minor in Genetics and Psychology. This is my first year as a Genetics graduate student pursuing my PhD! After that, who knows.
I've thought about doing a double doctorate and getting a DVM with my PhD, but it depends on what type of research I end up doing.
