Besides him peeing all over my daughter's clothes, Taz is an excellent cat. We love him to death. We got him neutered about 2 months ago. He's around 8 months old. I didn't realize that he was spraying until the day after we had him fixed, and I went into my daughters room to get some of her laundry. I know that there's nothing I can do about him spraying. (Or is there?) But my question is, how do I get the urine smell out of her clothes? And how can I make him stop spraying forever, except in his litter box, of course. I've tried just about everything on the market that I could afford. And I can't afford to keep buying new clothes and towels!

My first thought was, "we've gotta get rid of him!" But I don't want to do that, for he is such an alien/human sort of cat. He loves his belly to be scratched, he sleeps on his back with all his paws sprawled out. He's best friends with our dog, Odie. But I can't handle the smell of cat urine, at all!! I'll lose my mind!! OH! And BTW, we keep the litter box in my daughter's room, and he is able to get into her room whenever he wants. The door is never shut.

Somebody please help me?!

A good wash should get the smell out with bleach or something strong. Zero Odor works well. But cats can be VERY attracted to dirty laundry. I'd suggest keeping all laundry out of reach from teh cat (in a closet or hamper with a lid). Its very common for cats to take a liking to household membes scent and decide that is where they should mark. That should help eliminate some of the behavior. It gets tougher when the cat resorts to bed spreads/sheets.
Zero Odor

Also putting the litterbox in a bathroom might break an assocation with the room and a place to mark. Though it is unlikely it could be something to try. If its only in that place he marks a last resort might be to block entrance to the room until you know he's using the box and breaking the habit. Cats are very habit-forming and you'll have to crafta new one.
