I went for a walk today to get some exersice. The track i go to is surrounded by woods and there are several cats around. Some are not ferrel as i can see some of them go to there houses and whatnot but there are some strays.
Today i came across a beutiful white kitten and an orange one. About 6 months old. I then saw a sign saying that if interested let this woman know and she could trap them for you, Well just so happens the woman who hung the sign was there and saw me reading her sign.
She asked if i was interested in one of them, of course i am but i also know that in reality i could not afford to get the kitties what i need, shots, vet visits all the stuff that goes along with rescuing a kitty, she also thinks the white one may be pregnant.
Well to get to my point, how would someone like myself satisfy my need to care and love little and big ones like this, if i can't afford it. I dopn't want to ake on something i can't give. I have one cat now i have had her since she was 3 months old and is now 13, she was a stray.
I have had other kitties in here before, she was pissed off having another one in here, so i am not so sure she would tolerate it anyways.
I guess in talking to this woman who boards ani,als it really hit my heart today how much i love these critters.
I am 39 and develop photos for a living, trust me it's a job, not a career. I guess i was just looking for suggestions and or opinions from others.
Also i don't know what to do about these two little ones she has been feeding.
Thanks in advance for listening.

Wow, I honestly don't know what to tell you. Do you want to take them in? Maybe she could pay for things...

I am sorry if my post was unclear, i guess i was rambling a bit
I think what i want is to be able to help kitties and care for them. I really would love to rescue them but money and a husband prevents me from doing that
Not blaming him really because he does have an allergy to them.
Working in a vets office is not really what i want bwcause thats just so in and out and they all have owners, (Well most of them) Maybe i was feeling jealous that she boards them and i can't.

Hmm maybe i don't even know what i am trying to say

Have you thought about volunteering your time at the local Humane Society or any other shelters?

I felt that way too - wanting to help animals. I thought about volunteering at the Humane Society, but realised I probably couldn't deal well with the neglect and abuse I'd see. I do volunteer dog walking for a charity and that makes me feel good, although these dogs are all very well looked after and will have proper homes, so I'm not helping needy animals. I would suggest volunteering at a rescue place, SPCA. You can still help even if you can't take any animals in. These places always need an extra set of hands and someone who cares.

Yes, I bet they've love some help caring for and cleaning the animals and spending playtime and cuddle time with them.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon/evening.

Thanks guys....I just kind of suggrsted to hubby that we find a way to take at least one... No Go
I am not really suprised because of money reasons mostly, but just bummed me out cause i had a glimmer of hoope he would kind of make it work somehow.

I am going to look into doing some kind of volunteering though, maybe that will help curb my desires.

Maybe you could discuss some options with the lady in the woods. Perhaps you could form your own TNR with those cats. www.alley-cat allies might have some suggestions. And you could probably assist her in setting out feeding stations & maybe find an area where shelters could get erected, and some sort of enclosure that would keep out larger predators such as dogs & bobcats, so the cats could have some sort of safe haven. I firmly believe in divine guidance, and I think that those cats were brought to your attention for a reason. Bless you for having a kind & open heart!! Please keep us posted. {{{Prayers & vibes}}} for good answers soon! Susan
