Here are my new little ones
Haggis (Gus)

Ghillie

They are very chunky, smooshy kitties, it doesnt quite show in the pictures here.

I'm really concerned about the two of them
Both of them came to me this morning when I fed them. And both of them are using the litter box, and drinking water.

Gus, when you give him treats, or catnip, gets very lovey, and earlier, when I was laying on the floor, he was letting me pet him and was doing the little "Lookitme! Arent I cute? Pet me!" dance... We've gotten him to play as well, though he seems kinda 'cold' when we hold him.

Ghillie on the other hand, acts almost feral. She's been getting behind furniture and hiding back there, sometimes crying. I tried blocking up the sides of the big furniture so that she doesnt get tangled up in any cords or anything. She is not interested in treats or catnip at all. She seriously seems to just want nothing to do with us.

The only cat I have ever encountered like this was a feral cat we took in for a time, she'd act just this way (although we never got close enough to pick her up, so maybe there is hope there.)

I know, its just the second day. I've just never seen kittens act this way if they have been socialized properly. I'm wondering if they were cage raised and left alone alot, and I wonder if this is going to continue for a long time.

I'm sorry if this isnt the right place to vent/ramble about this particular problem, I probably sound terrible. I just can't help but be concerned for them, but also sad for us.

I've just been in your other thread asking to see pictures!

Your babies are beautiful, such cuties!

As for your concerns, (I don't know if you have already done so) you can post them in the appropriate forum and you'll be able to get expert advice from those in the know!

I hope that everything settles down for your two little'uns soon!

You have two very beautyful kitts - give them time - each is different and each will adjust at his / her own speed. They will be fine just give them lots of TLC.

awwww they sure are adorable

how is Ghillie doing? I am sure she is probably just a little scared at her whole world being turned upside down... but it is also possible that she is a scared timid kitty and she is acting this way to protect herself. My Cedy is extremley scared but slowly he is coming around and trusting us.

If things are still not going to well, please post your question in the relevant part of the forum where our experts are sure to see it and can help you out.

They ARE cute cats! Gus' white markings are really interesting. Do you have an idea of their bloodlines or can that only be guess work at this point?

It's kind of guesswork at this point, I was actually on my way to post in the behaviour forum, and saw I had responses here
For some reason, I'm not getting thread alerts. Going to have to make sure Gmail is letting them through.

I'm waiting on their papers, the contract does tell the parents names however. I only know that the mother is 1/2 fold, 1/2 british shorthair, and I'm not sure on the father. I'm thinking that there might be some American shorthair in there somewhere, because Gus has these thick tabby bands that I'm used to seeing on those silver tabbies

I promise to get some more pictures of them up, they are really such beauties and those pics just don't do them justice at all

Oh yes do! I'm having trouble seeing Ghillie's beautiful face! =0) Don't worry; the quickie I took of my Popcorn wasn't all that great either. I think she's going to be difficult to actually get in the right lighting and position long enough to show her off. I'm looking into rescuing a Siamese right now. I had no idea that so much went into it! It makes sense I guess. They probably do the same thing with greyhounds (I knew someone who rescued a greyhound through a program). Where did you find your lovely babies?

At the kitty's beck and call
Hi there
we're so happy to welcome you, Gus and Ghillie to TCS. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions

I'm sorry they are taking a little while to adjust, I'm sure it's just that they have suddenly found themselves in a new place and will soon come round. Just give them time, a calm environment and plenty of love and I'm sure they'll be just fine.
